sandbag and beer keg training

I was reading the beyond inside the lions den book and shammrock was talking about training with sandbags and beeer kegs anybody know of any routines with these?

are you serious? it's on the first page of strength and power.

As far as how to use a sandbag or keg, I suggest doing 20 minute drills or so. For example, aim to shoulder a sandbag 50 times in 20 minutes (that's 25 per shoulder, alternating shoulders each rep), if you hit 50 reps or more in 20 minutes, increase the weight next session. Tosses, cleans, carries, etc. are all good sandbag exercises that you can adapt to fit this type of protocol. IMO odd object lifts are conditioning tools, not a strength tools.
