...Almost put Chad Mendes out in roughly 20 seconds.

Aldo and his camp should have done their homework and watched that fight in slo-mo.

    Will Nick fall for that?

why would you watch tape on your opponent when you can spend the entire camp angrily hitting the pads because you got triggered that he called you names?

Except Mendes walked right through it and wasn't hurt at all.

Wouldn't you agree Mendes would have been KO'd stiff had Conor connected that punch clean?

Could have, but it didn't happen. 'What if stories' shouldn't exist.

By "almost put him out", do you mean didn't even hurt him? Mendes was pushing forward, not diving head-first and the right hand Mendes barely missed at the end of the exchange was a lot bigger than the shot Conor was trying to throw.

I am not a a fighter, but you are and I don't think you are trolling so...Care to explain the difference?

From what I can see, McGregor anticipated Chad and threw the left hand but looks like he did not connect it cleanly.

If you see something different I will gladly take my shame.

Relax. Not trying to make fun of you. The punch look alike. But the aldo punch was a clean hook while moving backward.

The Mendes punch was a overhand left going forward

Well, the thing with Mendes and Aldo is that they have to move in closer to land on Conor and against practically any of their opponents. Nate has a much longer reach than those guys and he prefers to hit you from range, he keeps you at the end of his punches, he doesn't move in real close like Mendes and Aldo have to.

The fact Aldo and Mendes had to move in so close against Conor compared to Nate who actually has a reach advantage over Conor, Nate doesn't have to move into the danger zone in order to land on Conor like Aldo and Mendes. He won't be at risk of being countered as often because of his reach advantage and because Nate is also so good at using that reach advantage.

Not that Conor can't and won't catch him with some counters, but it won't be as bad as what happened to Aldo. Nate doesn't really run into punches like that because he doesn't move forward like that, he keeps you at range with those long arms, he's very, very good at using his reach advantage against his opponents.

Now, if Conor was against RDA, it's different because he will have to move in closer than Nate does because he has shorter arms and he also prefers to lunge in with quick, powerful shots as it is.

Comparing Mendes almost being caught and Aldo getting caught is a little different when talking about Nate. Their body types are completely different and their styles are completely different. Nate doesn't have to move in that close and he rarely does, as I said a few times already, he keeps you at range, at the end of his punches and is very good at it.

Why would Nate have to leap at Conor with punches like Aldo and Mendes?

Are you forgetting Nate has the reach and height advantage here?

Conor will be the one trying to close the distance.
