I know this is a striking forum and I apologize for the plug in advance. A lot of guys that read the striking forum also do ground so I hope that justifies placing it here.
One of my friends finally opened up a school in sambo and judo. He was a Russian Junior Olympic champion a 4th degree BB in combat sambo, Russian special forces instructor and conditioning trainer. There is nobody around with his skill set in this area. He mixes all his training together and it is unique. The striking is being added to the schedule. I might start the stand-up program until they get a real qualified & committed striking coach.
In the short time he has been open, his students are taking honors at top competitions and will be competing in the Sambo Championships in NJ this May. His place is called Sambo 7 and it is on Mass Ave in Arlington, MA. No web site yet.
If you are in the area and want to add legit sambo to your game, this guy is great.
