Very rare to see anyone have anything bad to say about the guy. He was a true OG of that Japanese "let's give my everything, kill or be killed, never say die" mentality. He didn't win them all, but that mentality allowed him to overcome situations where others would have surely wilted. And, even while he was all business in a fight, he always seemed like he was simply just having fun. Factor in that he fought essentially up in weight his entire career, while heavily drinking and smoking during training camps, he's kinda a marvel.So true, I cannot think of anyone that is even close. And he seems like a truly humble and kind individual as well.
Some might last a year or two, but they do not stand the test of time.
