Sage is a nice kid but he could’ve really lost to that French guy who outwrestled him.

Unless he matures out of that Ned Flanders okley-dokley thing he’s got goin on, I don’t see him getting past Zak Ottis.

Oh well, at least Sage will always have a career in some boy band if fighting doesn’t work out.

Sage be like {<RR}

Dana be like <{danawhoah}>

I be like <{Joewithit}>

Sage is a stud but he’s just not ready for the big time. He needs to be fighting lower comp to establish his game and confidence while working on his grappling skills.

Sage could be in Bellator getting fed tomato cans like they do AJ McKee, James Gallagher, and that oh so beloved kid on here, Aaron Pico

But nope, Sage is learning the old fashioned way, and for someone as nice as him, it might be for the best.

I think he needs the Mickey Gall's to rile him up a bit, the Frenchmans to try and wrestlefuck him, the well rounded guys like Bryan Barbarena, this shit will prepare him for guys better who do what they do better.

We'll see if he's still around in 5 years or so tho. Try not to root for him, but I always end up rooting for him anyway. Old fashioned respect amongst his generation is rare so I do appreciate his Dad raised him to have some.

I wanna see him do well, but I also wanna see him get his was kicked. Just seems too pretty or nice or something for mma. Kinda like if Justin Berber started doing death metal, would seem odd.
But that's his personality or his shtick I guess.
I thought he won his last fight though. At least he was attempting to do damage.

As much as I dislike when the UFC shoves certain fighters down our throats despite them maybe not being the most deserving of the hype, Sage is a good enough athlete and fighter that a "Joe Schmoe" wouldn't beat him unless it was either a Joe Schmoe who hit very hard and got lucky or something like that.
I think Sage looks kinda vulnerable on the ground also, but a "Joe Schmoe" wouldn't have the ground game to exploit that.

Who is he fighting?

Sage has the potential to be good, and he's being given a million chances to prove himself since UFC deemed him marketable. Hes' already gotten better since he lost to Gall. The issue is.. quite frankly, he's not natty, and sooner or later he'll screw up what he's cycling, get caught and ruin his image. Maybe that's what needs to happen though, then he could turn heel and be Evil Sage.

Hopefully he's learned to move his head off the center line even if just accidentally.

He has the worst decision making in the UFC:
-undefeated @ LW
-winless @ WW

So where does he fight? Yep, WW again.

Zak Ottow is a solid fighter. I think he'll take Sage down and destroy him on the ground. I've met Zak in person and he's pretty big for welterweight. There should be a big size advantage and his grappling is much better. His striking is very good as well. Unless Sage catches him with something early, I think he'll get stuck in a submission in the 1st or 2nd round.

Sage is a can. He will never be top 10.

Kid is just not a fighter.

I feel like in 5 years Sage is going to replace Eric Silva as the butt of "hot prospect" jokes

Pico's first career fight was against a guy who was 8-2.
His second career fight was against a guy who was 7-3.
3rd fight - 12-4
4th fight - 19-8

He hasn't fought anyone even remotely close to his experience level yet and they are all successful fighters. But cans...

Sage is talented but he hasn't seemed to have synced all his disciplines very well. His wrestling could use an upgrade.
