You only need one judge to get it wrong for it to be a split decision. You need three judges for any decision, split, UD, MD.

That's like saying you need two people for a murder to occur, when one if a victim doing nothing wrong, and one is murdering someone. A strange and bizarre point.

I think you may be confused with majority draw, or majority decision, or a UD the other way. A split decision is simply one decision (from one judge, not all three) going to the losing fighter.
