Saenchai calls out McGreggor

I don't get it. Conor's a good grappler.
That's extremely debatable, I'm not a McGregor hater by any means but to say because he passed the one dudes guard who was rocked, and escaped a couple of subs is a good grappler is pushing it

He's competed in no-gi a fair bit. He's not like the Mendes Bros or anything, but there's nothing i've seen in his footage to suggest he doesn't have solid technical fundamentals.

He's a brown belt under John Kavanagh who's competed against some of my friends in grappling. I know he's a good grappler. Most people who can compete competitively at purple or brown belt in pure BJJ are better grapplers than most of the UFC competitors, including lots of the black belts who have never competed at a good level regularly. He's no Jacare but he's certainly no slouch.

Furthermore, he's certainly a better grappler than Saenchai who has presumably, much less grappling experience than McGregor.

LOL @ the tards here who think that Saenchai has the ground game to deal with any brown belt bigger than him in the world.

He repeatedly took down and passed Max Holloway with one-and-a-half working legs. That rather suggests he would submit a guy who knows no Jiu Jitsu at all in a handful of seconds.

Just saying, his grappling doesn't impress me, his striking does. It has absolutely nothing to do with being a "Conor hater" just personal opinion. I forgot how polarizing he is..

Feel free to disagree

Not impressive and not good are not the same things. If one's asserting he's not a competent grappler they're simply wrong.

I feel like you would be very surprised if you were to grapple him. I mean, it is literally his job to be competent at a high UFC level.

A fighter doesn't need impressive grappling to sub a white belt smaller than him. I'm sure half my local Gracie Barra could sub a small white belt easily, no matter how good he is in Muay Thai.

fair enough

I do think a fair amount of people would have a difficult time getting him to the ground tho... Not saying McGregor would be one of them tho :p

Striking only bout would be fun, Saenchai is a pretty unreal striker.
