sö did Brooks look bad?

He won. Pearson held his own in the early going, losing the first but not by much and then losing the second by a wider margin. Pearson really took it to Brooks in the third though, in easily the most one-sided round. Brooks held on for the 29-28, but Pearson gave him everything he could handle.

Looked good overall, but he will have a tough time against the top guys in the division.

He looked good. There were definitely some nerves there, but considering how other people have performed in their UFC after coming over (Lombard) he looked great. Once he settles in, he'll be a force.

He looked how you would expect in a UFC debut on short notice against a vet. He didnt get the finish and wasnt a blowout by any means but he got the job done.

EDIT: He then called out Eddie Alvarez if i remember right. LOL. Will Brooks doesnt wow me he is solid but i dont see him being champ any time soon.

I thought he looked fine, he coasted in the third and Ross turned it up on him a bit but making his debut not on a full camp against a veteran with good takedown defense is tough. I think he will be in contender talks soon I mean he is a top 10 LW based on the world MMA rankings

Great minds think alike

Short notice and UFC jitters aside, he was underwhelming against a mid-tier guy. He's not particularly young in age or career, but hopefully he does better in the future.

See I don't think it was really a call out, he kind of told Eddie hold onto that belt while I cement my contender status so we can fight like we were suppose to

Sounds kind of like a call out that you so eloquently put. lol

Didn't he say something about how now they can finally fight? Sounds like a call-out to me.

He seemed a bit nervous, and Pearson was particularly on fire. No shame in that performance. He should do well, I think.

Clearly won first two rounds. Pearson won 3rd. Not sure how he would do in a 5 rounder.

no, Pearson is just tougher than people like to admit

I was expecting much more from him, he didn't look nearly as light on his feet as he usually does and he slowed down massively. Wasn't he much more muscular in
Bellator as well? I feel like it wasn't even the same guy.

No, he looked great.

Pearson is a really fucking tough fight for anyone in the division. He's really tough to take down, keep down, and his striking is excellent. Unless you melt him, you're going to have a very tough fight on your hands no matter who you are in the division.

Unless of course you're Khabib.

I dunno maybe, but I'm starting believe this UFC jitters shit. Tons of guys have looked pretty mediocre to bad in their first fight then looked much better after. Shit just look at Alvarez, got whipped by Cowboy then beat melendez, pettis, and RDA.

I'll hold off to see how Brooks looks in his next fight. This was a short notice fight too btw.

Don't worry about that. He had 4 good 5 rounders in Bellator. He will look better next time.

about what i was thinking. pearson can compete with just about anyone in the division, and is a hard out in general. I was actually pretty impressed with brooks as a whole.
