Ryan Bader May Be Headed To Bellator; Will Have An Official Offer Today or Tomorrow

I'll miss him. He was the unofficial gatekeeper for the top 5. He may have given DC or Gus a decent fight, but I don't think he ever could've won the belt.

I just don't get it. I mean he beat Phil Davis already. What's the point of beating him again? Why not challenge himself?

Would honestly be unfortunate for the ufc. He's in the best form of his career and has proven to be a top 5 talent in that paper thin weight class

He won't be alone if they keep WWE-IMG'ing things to death

The UFC LHW division is a ghost town.

Because the UFC pays their fighters peanuts on the dollar of what they deserve?

raw

Reading the tea leaves of the timing of the Manuwa/Anderson announcement, seems legit.

I think that the UFC was probably planning Bader/Gustafsson in that spot, pending acceptance of a new contract for Bader.

Bader felt low-balled with the offer after what was on the table from Bellator, so he said thanks, but no thanks.

Just business.

Maybe less brain damage from Bellator competitors? Besides Tito retired 2 weeks ago so he won't have to worry about him

That's a valid point.

But I also think there's more to that. I think he's afraid of challenging himself. He just wants gimme fights since Jones/Rumble has destroyed his confidence.

Will anyone even miss him?
the roster....

like it or not bader is a decent name to have in a card. right now the ufc has so few names to complete the huge amount of cards, even bader would make a difference

Bader won't be champ in the UFC. He doesn't have the speed, finesse and durability that the elite have. He'll never beat Rumble Johnson or Jon Jones, ever.

Because they're not going to give him a shot no matter what.

He was on a good streak and even had some drama with DC, but they decided that Gus coming off a brutal KO loss was more deserving. They played him dirty, so I can see why he would rather go to Bellator. That and the fact that he has a real chance of winning the belt in his first fight.

Dana has always shit on Bader, he's just one of those guys that Dana hates. Wouldn't be surprised if he jumped ship
