By Russians I mean Soviet block individuals.

Let’s go sport by sport.

Wrestling - it’s well known if you include greco that Russians and Soviet Union has more Olympic medals than USA. In the World Championship USA gets destroyed by over 400 medals. And if you take Dagestan into consideration ( look up notable people of Dagestan ) the per capita Olympic medalist is about on par with Jews who won a noble prize lol

Boxing - boring or not the Klitschko brothers dominated the HW division for 10 years. Loma is considered by many a top 3 P4P regardless of having such a short resume, all due to his dominance and insane amateur record. Keep it mind many Russians aren’t marketable to the North American market and get held back in the amateurs or European pro circuits a la GGG and many many others, in fact GGG was a breakthrough because of his special talent. Before him many promoters weren’t interested in people’s who’s last name sounded Eastern European and preferred Mexican and American fighters. Speaking of GGG he tied Bernard Hopkins reign as champ at MW and by many people’s opinions beat it except Adelaide bird had to pay for a new summer house which was more important apparently.

MMA- Russians currently have the only undefeated champion, who only lost one questionable round in his career. The Russians also have a HW champ who went undefeated for nearly a decade in a division where anyone can get knocked out at any given time, and 3 title defences is a record.

Kickboxing - 2 out of 7 glory champions are from the Soviet block. And many top 5-10 kickboxers are from there as well.

Politics- pretty sure Putin is the only president who has a legit black belt in a legit combat sport

You see some pretty top notch street yoga in Russia!

Per capita its the Canucks. GSP, Bob Probert, Tie Domi, Carlos Newton, Brock Lesnar, Rory MacDonald, Elias Theodoru...

More like state sponsored cheating.

So good Ivan Drago had 10 fights and was 14-0. The other 4 were so scared they didnt even show up

USA doesn't even do freestyle full time and still beats Russians and our best athletes don't even wrestle at the higher weights, Kyle snyder basically took a summer off to do freestyle as an 18 year old and beat the best current Russian wrestler and won gold lol

In mother Russia, the best just means you survived

America's top athletes aren't wasted on Mortal Kombat...

Did you even read the post? Russians are held back in amateurs and European pro circuits due to most promoters not signing them. In a recent interview with Abel Sanchez he even mentioned that at the time GGG came to the US nobody wanted to sign Russian fighters, and that he was a break through due to his special talent. Loma is a perfect example of a guy who spent almost his entire prime in the amateurs came to the pros and won a title after 3 pro fights. I’m sure there are many others who aren’t getting a shot because the market is much bigger for USA, UK, and Mexican based fighters.

Italians disagree...
