Isn't his actions after the war are the reason that people doesn't like him? About the war I can only remember people are offended by his words that he murdered his first ethnically Russian when he was 16 years old (if I remember it right, he claimed that he will go to court to sue the woman that published his words and in the end he didn't do it, some claimed because she told him "OK, but people from Russian government who heard you saying that are agreed to be my witnesses in court").
