Opinion "Russia-gate" Retrospective

The Russia Investigation/ Muller Report was

This is wrong on all counts. Some trolls tried to claim that they were the source of the pee tape thing, but that was false (and implausible anyway), and that wasn't what started the belief that he was affiliated with Russia (the fact that he was closely affiliated with Russia is well-established and goes back to before his political career). Also not a big part of the info. Remember, Steele was looking for leads, not making conclusions. And then, of course, the big thing was Russia illegally hacking private communications and then disseminating the results in a way designed to help Trump. There's no world in which that's not a huge scandal for anyone. Trump in a way is protected by the huge number of scandals (meaning no single one gets much media focus) and by really open corruption (as the media loves uncovering stuff and doesn't care as much about stuff that isn't hidden).

Not sure what you mean here. The Mueller report showed that Trump was trying to obstruct the investigation, and there were some highly troubling connections.

If you're talking specifically about the pee tape, people just think it's funny. But the overall Russia stuff would have sunk any previous president. I agree that he did a lot more that was worthy of condemnation (and note that neither of his impeachments were related to Russia, though an impeachment and removal certainly would have been appropriate just on that basis).

The peepee tape was very much a 4chan creation. This is the same group that worked out the location of a terrorist training camp from some photos then called in an airsrike via a Russian military twitter account. Their ability to influence the real word isn't very implausible.

If it was no big deal, why then did Trump repeatedly feel the need to lie about it?
Because he's an idiot.

Had he the mental fortitude, he would simply explain that wanting to build a hotel (his job mind you), is not wanting to be a Manchurian candidate (which is the fairytale created by the Democrats).

PS, Replace the name?

<Dany07>

Both Clinton's met privately with Putin in the lead up the the race, and Bill cashed a $500k check from a kremlin linked bank. They also literally purchased Russian propaganda that the fed to the fbi, who knew it was fake.

You would know this if you weren't an ignorant goof. Or perhaps you support their actions?

Why, did your ridiculous Spygate conspiracy finally amount to something? It hasn’t? Then it seems like my posts aged just fine.

Did you miss the fbi falsifying evidence?

Of course, the left cheerleads for the alphabet agencies these days.

<{Heymansnicker}>

2 indictments so far. A Clinton lawyer and a crooked FBI agent. About a dozen fbi/doj/etc careers ruined. I'd say they're neck and neck with old Bob Meuller...

As foxnewsfan pointed out, the story about Trump being blackmailed by Russia with videos of Russian hookers peeing on him is a 100% certified 4chan hoax, which is what started much of the belief that he was Russia affiliated.
No and no. You're not even correct on what the allegations even were, let alone where they originated.

There were never allegations made that the hookers urinated on Trump. What was stated was that Trump wanted to defile a bed the Obama's slept on, so he had the prostitutes piss on it while he watched.

Steele had 4 sources for the story, and none of them were 4Chan. Source A was a senior Russian foreign ministry official. Source B was a former top Russian intelligence officer still active in the Kremlin. Source C was a senior Russian financial officer. Source D, the "close associate of Trump," is now known. His name is Sergei Millian.

edit - oh, and a third no. George Papadopoulos opened his yap to an Australian, who notified the U.S. about what he said, which led to the FBI opening their counterintelligence investigation. The pee tape isn't what started it.

Simultaneously seeking the white house and working on a business deal that could only proceed if what was becoming a hostile foreign power OK'd it is not innocuous, which is why he along with his sycophants lied about it (Cohen was convicted for perjury), and you would be speaking about it very differently if it was some other figure who was engaged in this.

Explain the conspiracy theory behind it. I want the details. Not just "4chan did it!"

Christopher Steele, an intelligence officer for MI6 who was in charge of Russia, now running a private intelligence firm, was hired to conduct research on Republican Party candidates, and he what - was browsing 4chan during his lunch break, came across a Trump pee tape story wedged between Pepe memes and some child porn, and decided to include it in his dossier?

And they all had the same story because a fake intelligence report was sent out all over the internet by a couple of 4chan users. You have 4 “sources” telling the same lie. They all got duped.

I didn't see where you address the Clinton's literally cashing a kremlin check.

LOL at a fucking hotel being more important than the fbi falsifying evidence...

You're embarrassing yourself.

You're projecting, Bob. I said if you took the Trump Tower Moscow story and replaced Trump's name with Clinton or Biden, you guys would feel very differently about it. That's obvious. A deranged whataboutism tangent makes it even more obvious.

I'm familiar with Clinton Cash, Uranium 1, Spygate, and all this BS. Most of it is lies, some it is half-truths. For example, Bill Clinton has made well over $100 million from speaking fees, and collected close to a million speaking in places in sub-Saharan Africa, like Nigeria. $500,000 in Russia, which was always publicly disclosed, doesn't mean anything. Especially since what it was supposed to be payment for - Uranium 1 - is complete nonsense.

Trump & Co lying (his lawyer being found guilty in court!) repeatedly over working on a business deal with Russia that could only proceed with Putin's approval, while simultaneously seeking the White House and acting obsequiously towards Putin during it, is obviously more important.

doesn't mean anything. .
<Dany07>

Tell us, what % of state department meetings with Hillary also happened to donate to her "Charity"?

PS, if you changed the names, I wouldn't blink an eye. That is if the other people literally had a hotel building career.

<TheDonald>

It's a hotel in a major world city. Who wouldn't want to build a hotel there?

It's cute how you just slurp down what the fbi feeds you without question.

1 - true or false, Downer wasn't debriefed until Aug 2nd? (Hint, it's true)

Hmmm, that's odd, because Halper was already in contact with GP in July.

<TheWire1>

It's almost like they're lying...

PS, how did Biden's bombing of the isis masterminds go? Oh wait, the government lied about that too???

Ah yes. Russia-gate. The beginning of the modern era of American distrust in elections.

Spearheaded by a left wing that still refuses to acknowledge that the most profound long-term effect of the investigation and its findings (not to mention the mainstream left-wing hysteria on the topic) was to further undermine faith in American electoral integrity.

The media will never ever admit they helped spread a narrative that the FBI, very early on, knew was completely fake.

July? All kinds of things happened before that. The Trump Tower meeting happened before that.
“B-b-but maybe that was just about the hotel he was building!” :confused:
Except it wasn’t.
And we know that because there are emails admitting that it wasn’t, and because of those emails, Trump and Trump Jr were forced to admit that it wasn’t.
So let’s stop using dumb terms like “fairytale,” or “Russian collusion HOAX” (derp) to describe this, as if the idea of the Trump conspiring with Russia is something that we invented. We know that the Trump campaign tried to receive dirt from Russia on Hillary, which is illegal. Legally speaking, they were saved by the fact that Russia played them and didn’t provide the promised dirt at this particular meeting. But “colluding” is exactly what the Trump campaign was trying to do.

So why did the fbi lie about the reason for opening the investigation?

<BC1>

It's almost like they got caught sending multiple spies to infiltrate the trump campaign.

<TheDonald>

PS,

A - the TT meeting set up by Fusion gps who was on the Clinton payroll?

B - Let me remind you the only ones to pay the Russians for any info was in fact the Clintons. They also met privately with Putin and cashed a $500k check from a kremlin linked bank.

Spare us your nonsense. The fbi etc turning on its own citizens for their political friends is FAR worse.

Nope. The Washington Free Beacon started the ball rolling. They are a conservative publication, who was conducting opposition research on Trump, when there was still a large field of Republican candidates and Conservatives were still openly against Trump. This is what led to what would become the Steele dossier.

Papadopolous opening his mouth to an Australian is what opened up the FBI counterintelligence investigation.

They are their own worst enemy.
