''The craziness that has surrounded UFC champion Max Holloway this week is devastating, word on the street is that he will be forced into early retirement due to brain trauma. This from a super close source to the situation, it’s sad to see at the young age of 26. I for one will miss watching Max fight.'' -TO

So who is this Terez Owens guy? Is he credible?

This will be the most tragic story in MMA history. If true.
But I do feel he’ll be back. Still really scary stuff. He’s only 26 but watching those two interviews where he looked so out of it and also at the open workouts where he was going about 10% was truly worrisome and sad.

I don’t know how credible of a source this guy is, but it doesn’t change the fact that Max needs to step away from the sport for a while. Nothing but best wishes for Max. Dude is an incredible fighter.

WAR MAX!

That's terrible.

I hope people stop with the weight cut witch-hunt circulating this story. People are trying to connect everything to weight cutting so they can shit on fighters. Shits crazy. Discussion about someone as likeable as Max devolved into "HAHA FUCKING GUY SHOULDNT CUT SO MUCH WEIGHT FUCK HIM FIGHT AT LHW WHERE YOU BELONG STOP LOOKING FOR ADVANTAGES!11!111"

He hasnt even fought with 4oz recently. Is he really being that careless in sparring as a champion? Doubt

Guy is just writing his own thoughts for hits

"Word on the street"

Shut up homeboy

Smoke mirrors.

Not saying is impossible but I dont think they are going to rush in making that decision.

If he is indeed suffering from serious brain trauma then he is making a very wise decision by getting out.

Seriously tho, I've suffered 4 concussions in the last 3 years from mountain biking and snowboarding and after each one it takes longer to recover properly, felt like shit for ages after the last one

Damn that's tough man, guy was literally starting his journey to becoming the best FW ever. However if he's having concussion symptoms that aren't weight cutting related and he wasn't knocked out during camp then it's best he retires considering he has a young son. This makes me think about guys like Overeem who've been through worse than Max and are soon bound to suffer similar or perhaps worse consequences than Max did.

better not be true man. cant be.

hes one of the realest champs we have right now and he always puts on entertaining fights

Really hope that isn't true, but if he's really got brain trauma then it'd be for the best

That's terrible.

I hope people stop with the weight cut witch-hunt circulating this story.
I am very confident dehydrating yourself isnt good whilst suffering from concussion

Max got into the sport very young and has been in a lot of stand up wars so I wouldn't be suprised if he gets CTE'd into retirement.

Damn say it isnt so.

Truly unfortunate if true. But i for one am glad if he gets out in time.

bs.. earlier in the day max was saying he gonna be back asap
