No-one comes even close. Just think about for a second what he has shown since coming back to the UFC:

A complete domination over then top5 ranked Phil Davis in a stand up fight. Davis manages to land 9 strikes to the head in 15 minutes.

Knocks out Nogueira in 44 seconds, Nogueira doesnt land a single strike.

Knocks out top2 ranked Gustafsson in 2min 15 seconds, Gus lands 8 strikes to the head.

Knocks down Cormier and completely dominates the stand up, Cormier barely lands anything standing.

Complete domination and KO over Manuwa in a few minutes, Jimi manages to land 1 strike to the head.

Knocks out Bader in 1min and 26 sec, Bader doesnt land a single strike (this KO happened on the ground, though).

Like I said, no-one is even close as dominant striker as Rumble currently in the UFC. Not even Conor who is less effective and defensively more flawed than Rumble. There might be better "technical" strikes out there, but that doesnt really mean anything, since effectiveness is all what matters at the end of the day, and Rumble is the most effective striker by far in the UFC. That makes him the best striker in MMA today.

You're right. He may not be the most technical but he's by far the most effective.

Rumble's power makes him incredibly effective as a striker, He doesn't have to be as accurate as a volume striker because even a glancing shot can start his opponent on the way to a TKO. Just a fun fighter to watch and I'm glad he moved up in weight and got himself figured out.

He's definitely good, but I don't agree with adding the DC example in there. That's like saying that because Rashad dominated Rampage in wrestling, that Rashad is clearly the best wrestler.

It's not like many arguments were being made that DC was the best striker, so by saying Rumble had his number in the standup really adds nothing to the argument.

Definitely the most feared

Effective striking sure helped him when he quits. You can't win by just being good at one thing.

Conors UFC career = comes in the ufc on an 8 fight win streak 6 of which are KO's, fights 7 times in the ufc and captures the belt with 6 of those being KO's

Still somehow its not arguable at all that conor isnt a better striker then rumble? uh yeah right buddy

This thread is about Rumble being the best striker in MMA. Him losing to DC on the ground has a zero relevance. Rumble tooled DC standing.

Meh.

Conor and Thompson are just as good. Gus is the only good striker he has beaten at 205.
Lil Nog and Manuwa are good strikers. Conor and Thompson aren't just as good. Johnson is for real head clean off, not just theoretically.

Edit: Thompson did ko Big Rigg. I'd have to see a few more dominating KOs before I compare him to Rumble. Rumble has scary power.

Of course but it is a two way street.
