Florida made sense to me. I had a ton of friends down there and would make business purchases down there frequently. I even would buy a lot of car parts down there and followed their racing scene closely. My experience: There are a TON of Cubans down there who assimilate and identify as WHITE LATINO. They also hate Castro and anything that sounds like socialism with a passion. So they can't stand anyone who spreads even the slightest hint of social democratic policy. Because their direct parents or grandparents were able to come from nothing and make it to middle-class they dont want to hear or understand the complaints of the black community. These were some of the most racist people i had ever met against African Americans in my life.
