Rousimar Palhares' to Jake Shields: Talk now, because you're running out of time

Oops, sorry. Wrong board.

EDIT: Nvm, fixed. Thanks!

People do tap, Palhares ignores that fact and they get hurt.

Also this seems like someone else wrote it for him, I don't think he can articulate himself that well in any interview I've ever seen.

Someone has the smoothing setting on 5 for this translation. Paul Harris is not smart enough to articulate himself that well.

However, still some awesome shit talking going on. I hope he rips Jake Sheilds legs off.

I miss Palhares in the UFC. He is a bit of a nutjob, but goddangit is he exciting. And if i remember correctly, he didn't do anything wrong against Pierce or Fitch.

The guy might be in his prime right now. #FreePalhares

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he get the boot due to holding subs too long/needing to be pulled off his opponent?

Or did he just lose 2 in a row after one of those incidents and got canned as a result?

I don't think I've seen the Fitch fight, but he held on a good long time against Pierce. Possibly the most delayed let-go I've ever seen. Glad the UFC got rid of him.

...and if Jake hurt him I'd consider it karmic justice.

He did it even worse to Drwal. Injured him as well. At least Pierce seemed to have gotten away without a serious injury.

But Shields can't hurt a fly, he'll probably try to control Palhares until he gasses.

When he fought Pierce and onwards, he held just enough, if you compare to other submissions. What got him sacked from the UFC was his previous record, and the fact that these subs are dangerous. Also, the CABMMA didn't like that sub.

As for Carl and Fitch, I don't remember them complaining after the fight.

Making his welterweight debut at UFC Fight Night 29, Palhares submitted Pierce via his trademark heel hook early in the first round. However Palhares refused to relinquish the submission for several seconds following the tap, despite Pierce's cries of pain and the insistence of referee Keith Peterson.

Palhares' finish wound up as the only submission on the card, yet he failed to receive a 'Submission of the Night' bonus due to what UFC officials perceived to be "unsportsmanlike conduct." White subsequently promised further consequences would be coming.

Palhares received a 90-day suspension for a similar incident in 2010 when he refused to relinquish a heel hook well after his opponent, Tomasz Drwal, submitted. Palhares has displayed similar tendencies at grappling tournaments in the past, and in addition, tested positive for elevated testosterone following a late-2012 loss to Hector Lombard.

"This is the second incident we've had with Palhares where he had the lock and he didn't let it go. Finally he let it go, but I'm going to cut him," White said. "He's done."

"Reebok and the UFC have no room for real fighters on the roster. MMA is a sport, and our product will reflect that reality."

every moron that talks crap about rousimar gets heel hooked

The pierce one wasn't as bad as it was made out to be. He let go as soon as the ref grabbed him, the first one that got him suspended was way worse.

this. People don't seem to understand that the fight isn't over when the opponent is KO'd, submits, screams, the doctor asks to stop the fight, the corner throws in the towel, or any other thing until the ref stops the fight. Palhares is supposed to keep fighting until the ref stops the fight, and thats what he's done recently.
