Ronda (23) is ranked above Floyd (26) in ESPN's World Fame 100 rankings. While not a Ronda hater I have no idea how this is even possible. Nor can I comprehend how she's ranked above Serena. There are quite a few femail tennis players ranked above Serena that should be either. Lose your shit Sherdog we know you want to.

Conor (37) seems like a bit of a stretch to me as well. Unless ESPN is going to make a bid to broadcast UFC events I have no idea why they perpetually overrate UFC fighters fame.

She's a rockstar Joe.

Well that's stupid.

Kobe is 11th? two tennis players are in top 10, tennis??

ESPN is still butthurt that Floyd always bigtimes them.

More people in the world know who Kevin Durant is than Usain Bolt? Lmao, just makes the whole thing look stupid.

Ronda Rousey is a novelty act. Her star will burn bright but it will fade hard (if it's not fading already).

You know the deal.

If they make a real list the click bait wouldn't work

The sky is blue - click here
The sky is red - click here

Which would you click on?

Brees and Wilson and Odell Beckham Jr and Scam Newton over Tom Brady? Please. And Connie at 37? There's absolutely no way he's more famous throughout the world than some of these other guys further down on the list like Ovechkin, Crosby and Klitschko.

It's saying Connie is 37th, and Peyton Manning is 38th? In what universe is Connie more famous than Manning?

Pure unadulterated garbage.

i really don't know what to make of this,i only got to #6 and I'm like....who the fuck is this ???????....after that, its littered with huge gaps of people I don't know.

Ronda is one of the most well known athletes in the world, I think she's easily more notorious than Floyd. That might not be immediately apparent in the bubble of combat sports fans, but that's hardly a telling demographic of mainstream culture.

Reading further into it, it seems like the list has very poor methodology. They rank "fame" based on input of ESPN analysts, which are also hardly representative of the general public. They also take salaries and sponsorships into account, which is a problem because Basketball and Football - despite being extremely profitable sports for the athletes, maybe the highest on average for top players - do not have that much notoriety outside the US.

i know one person mentioned in your post.

that resonated with me as I don't know who Kevin Durant is.
I know of him because of stumbling across basketball stuff online. But I couldn't tell you a single thing about him. 1/5 of the list are basketball players, I think ESPN seriously overestimates how popular basketball is globally.

They certainly picked a great photo of her to use on the list...

Especially when there's so much on offer (don't forget it was ESPN who did this shoot with her...)

It's funny how these MMA fighters are on ESPN's top 50 when ESPN just started covering MMA seriously.
