Now I dont care if you're a Romero hater or the biggest Whittaker fanboy, just think about this for a second... Whittaker was awarded the same score for round 4 as Romero was given for round 5, both scored 10-9.

Anyone who can accept that with a straight face and pretend that's right has no clue what they're watching.

Holm got a 10-8 from two judges.

Yeah, it's silly. Avoiding situations like that is why I'm liberal in scoring 10-8 rounds. It's why I think round 1 could be 10-8 too.

But this whole debate would be avoided were the fight scored like THIS

It was a draw Bobby had 1,2,4 Romero had 3 an a 10-8 5. Could argue Romero had a 10-8 in 3 an 5.

I always thought 10-8 were given when the fighter was dominated most of the round, and was close to being finished.

While Whitaker did get hurt, he was still able to recover, and regain a position. that's the main reason they scored it 10-9, because didnt dominate, he just caught Whitaker, but was unable to capitalize on it.

Like Yoel took big shots every round of this fight too, you cant get a 10-8 when youre eating shots like that, it wouldnt make any sense

Yeah, the scoring system is fucked up. That was the point of the more liberal 10-8 rounds. He did HUGE damage with not much returned from Whittaker. The 3rd did have Whittaker dealing some damage, so I gave him a 10-9 for Romero.

They DID give two 10-8s in the Holm fight, where she did dominate, but didn't inflict nearly as much damage as Romero in the 5th.

IT'S ALL FUCKED UP!
