Social Rounders (movie) Card Cheating.

I think you may have what is commonly know as an obsession. It may be time to seek help.

I was inspired by the mention of the movie Rounders in my other thread on How To Cheat so I recorded another video for you fine folks here at Sherdog.

Excellent.

Does this work on peeps in a live game? Is it sustainable long enough to take money without getting caught?

I would think you'd be made pretty quick at a casino?

Excellent.

Thanks!

Does this work on peeps in a live game?

No. I wouldn't do such fancy tabled riffle shuffles or 3 way up the river cuts etc... in a real live game if I was inclined to cheat in one. That would make someone stick out from everyone else. I would do something like an overhand shuffle or do the bridge shuffle that 99% of people do that bends the shit out of the cards. LOL

A skilled card cheat can control several or whole blocks of cards using those methods too. I just do the fancy-schmancy shuffles/cuts for videos because it looks cool.

I may have to do a video on what it looks like when you handle cards like your average Joe at a friendly home game but can still cheat with seemingly innocent shuffles and cuts.

I would think you'd be made pretty quick at a casino?

You're not wrong but then again I cannot think of a casino anywhere in the world that would allow someone to shuffle and deal a game. In Blackjack, a player selected at random is given the opportunity to cut the deck via a cut-card after the croupier shuffles the cards once the end of the shoe is reached (or whenever the pit boss tells them to shuffle) but there is no way to take advantage of it since you have no idea what position any of the cards are in.

As an actual croupier, you could theoretically try to cheat with a partner at the table, but the eye in the sky is going to bust you eventually.

And it simply is not worth it considering that there are some laws in a place such as Vegas that allow the casino to charge you PER cheating attempt.

For example, let's assume you were playing at a Craps table and you switched out the legit dice for loaded ones that would never hit 2, 3, or 12 (in other words you would never "crap out") and you rolled these illegal dice say... 5 times, then you are busted by security and get arrested for cheating.

Now let's assume just by throwing the loaded dice once (if convicted) you could face one to six years in jail... with some of the laws, just on the minimum sentencing, based on the scenario above that would be 5 years in jail... and the maximum side, those 5 loaded dice rolls could net you 30 YEARS in prison.

Plus restitution.

So yeah, trying to get one over on casinos is just too risky. I enjoy sticking it to "the man" as much as anyone else, but I'm all set as far as that is concerned. LOL

Apologies for the rant, but I can talk about this stuff all day!

TL;DR: Thanks! | Nah. | Yep!

Fantastic,

and yes, " I cannot think of a casino anywhere in the world that would allow someone to shuffle and deal a game."

I totally spoke before thinking, of course they wouldn't, this is private game stuff.

Since you've obviously spent a ton of time on this, what's your take on card counters? Do they all need to be MIT grads?

My casual judgement of the ones I saw, (who actually won lots) were they could count like a calculator, well versed in all the probabilities, but also understood intuitively when it was time to chuck all the rules and selectively gamble based on their very learned risk assessment.

Its a pleasure watching you execute your craft yo.

Thanks for posting these.

You don't have to be a math wizard at all because card counting is very simple.

Card counting perfectly, in any situation, under any circumstances, with surveillance from the cameras, dealers, and pit bosses putting heat on you, being asked questions from the waitress and other players wanting to make small talk, converting the true count after keeping up with the running count, and all the lights, bells, and whistles of a casino environment all while trying to make it seem as if you're not counting (in demeanor and by your bet spread)... Is very difficult.

Oh, and lest we forget the most important aspect of card counting is being able to memorize and execute perfect basic strategy under all the said conditions.

That's the only reason to learn card counting in the first place is so that it will allow you to take maximum advantage of playing perfect basic strategy. You can count cards like Rain Man in the movie, but if you do not know perfect basic strategy it does you no good, at all, whatsoever.

You have to commit this entire chart to memorization and play it... perfectly...while needing to also know the 18 different variations when you need to deviate from basic strategy.

Again, I stress one does not need to be a genius to do all this... but it takes an extraordinary amount of dedication to achieve such mastery that most people aren't cut out for it.

That's not a knock on most people, that just shows how difficult it is.

Not to mention that you would also need to keep bankroll management in mind as well. Maybe you can learn to do all of the above with 100% accuracy, but if you don't manage your bankroll correctly, well... you can't gamble when you're flat broke.

Its a pleasure watching you execute your craft yo.

Thanks for posting these.

That is very kind of you to say, thanks so much!

It's my pleasure to post these as long as people are enjoying them.
