I'm expecting SnW to win this easily.
However
CNN> SnW imo

smif n wessun paid their dues for years, capone and noreaga were looking to sell the fuck out as soon as they got big, especially noreaga. also, smiff n wessun are better imo, better albums, better tracks, better MC's

Smif N Wessun. Both had classic first albums but bad work after that with CNN's being worse imo so i'm pretty much just judging them off their early work.

When I was younger though this song was it.

ban for homophobia

hate to nitpick, but none of the artists you have used are considered "old school" to the hip hop die hards. old school represented a particular sound. you cant just call something "old school" in hip hop because its old, of all the artists I have seen featured in these polls, I, and many other old school fans would consider them to be "true school". not hating, just saying, seems weird to me that these artists are considered old school. I was around when smiff n wessun came up, I don't consider myself to be old school

I hate to use Wikipedia as a source but here it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old-school_hip_hop

You just earned yourself an invite to the hip hop nerd club. We meet every Thursday night and reminisce about buying 10 CD's for 10 cents from Columbia House.

It was close but I gave it to SnW.

p.s. You're not invited if you like Aesop Rock.

10 CD's for 10 cents?, is that even real? :icon_conf

surely a business model specifically designed for people who don't read the small print, ie, a lot of people

It was actually great if you purchased the minimum quantity of additional CD's listed in the fine print and canceled the next day.

If I remember correctly I received 16 CD's for the price of 6 and a dime.

10 for 10 cents , and one more a month at regular price for 6 months.

Also, one of those 10 was Enter the 36...

the whole deal was worth it just for that album imo...
