At Fury Pro Grappling 6 last night Rose Namajunas got submitted in 65 seconds vs Gillian Robertson.

I expected Gillian to win, but Rose and Pat's performances were so strange. First Pat comes out and literally does nothing. Just gets absolutely manhandled while offering basically no resistance whatsoever. Then Rose comes out, and basically the exact same thing, except she gets finished quick.
Rose actually has some solid jiu jitsu, she used to be known for her ground game primarily, throwing flying submissions and generally just being very competent on the ground.
So not only does she get completely run over in a performance where she looked totally lifeless, but then in the post fight interview she makes a gang of excuses, can barely form a coherent sentence, and is acting like she's on the verge of a psychotic breakdown.

A couple tid-bits we're "I just wanted to see where I was at", "I've been going through a lot of stuff", & "Pat's match really threw me off".

Super weird, wtf is going on with Rose? All the weird Pat Barry stuff as usual, the atrocity of a fight vs Carla, and now this. Just bizarre, really tough to be a Thug Rose fan right now.

I mean, Barry was never much of a grappler, so if his opponent was legit, then him not doing much wouldn't be that weird.

Especially that he didn't compete in anything for very long time.

Dunno if his opponent was legit though, professor Google tells he's a purple belt? Probably competitive one, though.

His opponent was not very legit, he was just a hobbyist grappler that was morbidly obese lol.

What was strange about Pat's performance? He's not a grappler and has no clue what he's doing out there. What did you expect him to do?

And what did you expect out of Rose? She might be competent on the ground and has lots of subs, but they've come against low level girls who mostly lose by subs. You mention her flying subs, but she has only ever landed one of those and it was against a girl who has lost 5 times by sub.

Rose has never subbed a girl who was even remotely decent at grappling. She's hyped up the UFC for being dangerous off her back purely because there isn't anything else for them to hype up with her. Her striking is excellent, but she doesn't really KO people so it's hard to push her as some KO artist.

And she was up against a FLW who has absolutely no clue how to do anything except grapple. Rose was never going to be competitive against someone like that.

Rose making excuses and acting weird sort of felt normal as well.

That’s all you needed to say, man.

The paycheck is in the mail.
Showing up for the paycheck is one thing but Rose went out there and embarrassed herself. Sure Gillian is bigger and a better grappler but it’s not like she’s elite when it comes to No-Gi. It was overall a bad look for Ross imo

How? There was no way more than 10K people watched that event live. She'll be fine. Rose is incredibly unreliable performance wise. No one should be shocked at this outcome. Even more so when you realize Gillian is a very good grappler, was in better shape and was much more motivated to win that bout rather than just test herself, as Rose is the bigger name.

Looks like the effects of drugs (illicit or prescription) combined with mental illness (anxiety/bipolar). She didn't appear to be mentally present at any point in that match.

She was extremely competitive with Zhang on the ground in their 2nd fight, whom I would consider to be a great grappler. I do recognize there are differences between pure grappling and MMA grappling, but still, it just felt like she didn't even try and the post fight interview was even weirder. That's all.
