Rory vs Ellenberger Thoughts

Everyone in both camps seem to think that the only way this ends is with one brutally smashing the other. Rory's good no doubt about it (was ten seconds from stopping Condit from giving GSP his toughest fight) and dominated a good number of his opponents (but they weren't terribly high ranked) he has good striking, ground and pound, solid wrestling, and can sub guys.


Jake is a great wrestler with dynamite hands but I think despite Rory having gassed before I think if it goes deep Rory will have the edge. I can see an early KO/TKO for burger or second/third round sub/TKO for Rory as plausible outcomes. If it goes to a decision I have no idea who wins. So who you got?

Kampmann recovery? What Martin Kampmann are we talking about? Surely not the same guy who has been knocked out several times in his career.

Rory has a major problem: Jake pretty much lands big on everyone he fights - and Rory has shown nothing to prove he has an elite chin or recovery.

We're seen him in real danger once and he got finished - Burger will take him to the Danger zone.

I see a very hard to call fight. Both are top five imo. Jake should have fought for the title already. Rory will fight for the title.
