Yes, it's Gaelic for Rory. Who cares who gave it to him it's one of those nicknames that is just trying way too hard. What Rory wants it to say about him: 'I am to be taken seriously, I am a mature grown man, I am to be respected and feared.' What it actually says about him: 'I am a man-child, I take myself way too seriously and I am quite possibly a psychopath'.
