Ronin's Unbeaten Path

My first (failed) attempt at squatting drill pipe. I see some flaws in form as well as the balance factor.

Found the YMCA in New Town, ND. Big, fairly nice facility...shitty weight room. But it's better than nothing. No squat rack & no power rack, but one of the various "squat machines" had pins facing the outside that I used to put the bar on & I just didn't push it since there's no safety & no spotters.

Squat

135 * 8
225 * 5
315 * 3 (+ sleeves)
405 * 2
455 * 1
495 * 1
525 * 1 (+ wraps)

Bench
135 * 10
225 * 5
275 * 3
315 * 1
325 * 1

I'll copy this to the team log when I dig out my computer (probably tomorrow while I'm doing laundry)

Good work. With no spotters/rack those are some great numbers.

165 * 5

Thanks XT. Last day of work today, then a 12 hour drive home tonight, should get home early tomorrow morning. I'll hit the lifting club Friday probably to lift with some decent equipment.

Squat & Bench

*I've basically decided to do like a 2 day split & just do it more often on my days off. Kinda hard figuring out some kind of program with my schedule:icon_sad:*

Squat

135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3 (Sleeves on)
405 x 2
455 x 1
505 x 1
530 x 1 (Wraps)
555 x 1 (Wraps)
405 x 5 (Sleeves)

Bench

135 x 8
185 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 2
315 x 1
325 x 1
305 x 2
255 x 8

**Bench felt a little weak after squatting**

Yeah, a 325 bench is totally weak... :) Did I read correctly you're losing weight? What are you down to?

Well, the strange thing is, my scale doesn't show much...I got as low as just under 270, but I'm hovering around 275 - 280 according to my scale. Still that's down from the ~300 I was, but I think I've stopped losing weight & just started losing fat now. Not that that's a bad thing though :)
The reasons I say that:
When I first went up to the board, I was at the last notch on the belly belt, now I'm on the 4th.
Also moving belt notches on the regular belt
Pants fitting looser
Comments of friends & family

Basically, I have nothing concrete to support my theory, but I still think it's true :p

Nice lifting as usual. You may have answered this already but why wraps but no belt? I would imagine you're good for 600 with an lever inzer belt.

Also congrats on shedding bodyweight/bf.

I still use my belt, I don't know why I note the use of sleeves & wraps but just assume the use of the belt. I generally put it on about 500 lbs for squat & DL both.

Nice work in here ronin. Still strong as shit even with weight loss I see.

Thanks guys. Between my schedule and the lack of action & direction on this forum lately it's hard to keep motivated. I am forced to admit that S & P has been a major motivator for me. I'll continue to train and find my own motivation, but I'm starting to think this place will become less and less of a motivator the way things are going. :icon_cry2

DL & Press

DL

225 x 8 (DOH)
315 x 5 (DOH)
405 x 2 (DOH)
455 x 1
495 x 2 (Belt)
545 x 1
585 x fail (Don't know never felt right, although the strength felt like it was there...just couldn't get comfortable with it)
545 x 2
455 x 7 ++
*For those who may not know, if you're in the middle of a high rep set of DL, and you feel the urge to burp...don't. Planned a set of 8, which I knew I had easily and was thinking of going for 10. Let a little burp go @ 7 and had to choke the water back down after putting the weight down*

Overhead

Strict
95 x 12
135 x 5
155 x 5
175 x 3
195 x 2
Push
205 x 2
245 x 1
265 x 1
275 x 1
Strict
165 x 8

Bodyweight overheads is a good thing

Staying motivated is tough at times so you have to stay focused on what you want.

Nice work regardless. Some days you just won't have everything clicking, its just a part of life. I have had nights where I struggled with 150 lb under my DL PRs and yet other days heavy singles were flying up like nothing. Perhaps you are tired or the dieting is affecting your strength levels.

Squat

*I'm going to give the Hepburn Method a shot, modified slightly to my schedule*

135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3 (Sleeves)
405 x 2
495 x 1 (Belt)
525 x 1 x 8 (Wraps)
455 x 5 (Sleeves)

**No assistance on work days. I've decided (for now anyway) that while I'm out here at work, I'll just do the main lift and be done. When I'm home and have more time, I'll throw some assistance stuff in**

I'm loving the results from my modified Hepburn for deads.
