BD = Boxing defense

Not that crap we saw tonight. If she trained at a real camp or hired roach/mayweather to train her in just boxing defense, she could survive or get by with BD and we all know no one is winning a ground fight or grappling with her.

I agree, but she hasn't done any of that so the world will never know this.

You don't learn how to box in 6 months.

She'd have to unlearn everything Edmond taught her. Could take years

Ronda would never learn. Awful fighter who beat up on abysmal fighters and temporarily empowered a bunch of awful and abysmal nonsense.

She is athletic. And a wizard on the ground and very strong. If she just has decent BD she could almost always get the fight to the ground or clinch eventually.

Tate, cat, and Mcmann are not abysmal. All top 10 fighters.

She was not very athletic, even if you think she had physical ability, her knees are shot which is why she could only attempt clinch takedowns.

The delusional confidence she had was one of the only reasons she had the streak she did, walking through punches like they wouldn't do anything with no head movement, whereas someone who realized that she could and would get dropped eventually doing that wouldn't have tried that strategy.

The division is evolving already and the upper tier girls can defend the clinch.

amazed at the athletic double standard for men/women. Conor is double division champ and he's a D level athlete.... Rousey doesn't land a single punch and she's still and amazing athlete

she's done, we won't see her fighting again

and lol @ mayweather or roach, two 200 year old braindamaged individuals who need to be subtitled, there are plenty of no name boxing coaches who would have done wonders for her but it's too late now

Fuck out of here with that noise. Her chin is permanently cracked. First shot that gets through that defense, she's folding liker a lawn chair.

lol it's like you took the term "Takedown Defense" and created the phrase "Boxing Defense." There's just boxing, which in itself encompasses defense. What's surprising is how much Edmond harps on boxing training with her and her complete lack of footwork, head movement, and defense overall though.

Her takedowns have almost always been via the clinch though which isn't supprising given her background.

I think the OP actually represents part of the problem, Rousey bought into the "Boxing > everything" mentality that many have before her and ended up mostly ignoring the abilities that got her to the top in the first place. it was obviously made a lot worse by being involved with a charlatan trainer with very limited abilities but her game should have stayed the way it was in the early days, advance, throw a few small cover punchs, clinch and look for the throw then then armbar, those were the performances that were by far the most impressive technically.

As much as people tried to pretend she was doing this and was shut down vs Holm I think an honest eye can see its not the case. I think you canm clearly see it vs Beth were she's making no attempt at the takedown at all and the same in the last couple of fights, she's setting herself up to throw bombs.

The sad thing is Rousey is actually really tough, much tougher most of the woman in the division and fighting smart she could actually have walked though punches into the clinch and a takedown but standing infront of people throwing bombs her chin just ment she took an even bigger beating.
