I think it's funny ppl right Ronda off after that first fight. Like no one has ever come back from a starching. I don't even care for Ronda but she wins that rematch because she gets its to the ground and doesn't try to box with holly.

Take your personal feeling out of it since some ppl here think her TV personality is her real personality. She's the better fighter.

She clearly holds some advantages over Holly, but as we saw, implementing them is a different story. With her full schedule, it's hard to see her making the necessary improvements even in a year's time.

That said, I do think a large part of what happened to Ronda in that fight was the mental aspect of it. She expected to run through Holly like she had everyone else, and when that didn't happen she got flustered. I also think it was the first time she had ever been truly hurt by a punch, and so she wasn't accustomed to it.

And to be fair, I think Ronda deserves credit for hanging in as long as she did. She was taking a beating, yet kept coming forward until she was stopped. Plenty of fighters have wilted long before Ronda did.
 
Theirs something to be said about the promos and fight hype fighters like Ronda and Conor have to do. Insane amounts of pressure and time that takes away from training. She will do less of that this time around and holly will do more. Holly will lose this fight imo
 
I don't mind Ronda, I just like Holly, I can see Holm starching her again though.

Ronda will still be the one used to hype the fight.
 
Uncle Dana is hoping Tate beats Holm so RR can bypass Holm.

In all seriousness, Ronda DID try and get Holly to the ground to submit her...it didn't work.

Can it happen, though? Yes.

I think she would lose again in completely different but equally frustrating way. I think it might look similar to Alvarez vs Pettis with Ronda completely abandoning the striking and trying to get takedowns with little success. I do feel Ronda would do better a second time around getting the clinch.If I'm Holly I wouldn't gamble and take her down like the first fight.

I think she clearly thought she could hold her own in boxing. That's not happening. She was going for take down when she had already taken bombs. Holly won at her craft. Ronda will win at hers.

Holly was in the promo last time too. They won't ask too much of her, they probably don't like that she has class and isn't disrespectful.

Just about any gameplan, outside of the "plan" she used in the first first, puts her odds at 50/50. I still believe that there is no 135lb female fighter that can compete with her on the mat. The only time they went to the ground in the last fight Ronda was already basically knocked out by that standing elbow and she still got into a dominant position. Far too many people are counting her out. Like they counted Cain out in the 2nd JDS fight. Or Chuck in the 2nd Randy fight.

I will say that I think Ronda was NOT in her peak physical condition for the first fight. Perhaps they are thinking that if she DOES come in in tip top shape, that will make the difference.

The thing is, is that that thinking doesn't address the technical deficiencies she showed in the 1st go around.

So, even at her best, I think Ronda will have some problems to deal with.
