http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/2/17/11027478/ufc-new-ronda-rousey-trademark-f-them-all-
On May 17th the United States Patent and Trademark Office published a trademark application for the phrase 'ROWDY RONDA ROUSEY IS IN THE HOUSE', along with an accompanying image.
The owner of the application, as listed by the US Agency, is none other than former UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. The Correspondent listed for the application (who is responsible for communicating with the USPTO) is famed martial arts trainer 'Judo' Gene LeBell.
The official application includes a description of the desired trademark:
The mark consists of the words "ROWDY RONDA ROUSEY IS IN THE HOUSE" above a rectangle in which a woman's face and hands appear, all within a larger divided rectangle with rounded edges.
The proposed trademark is hosted on the USPTO's official website and can be viewed there.
According to the application the text and images are to be used for 'Plastic name badges'.
The process to trademark this slogan/image began on March 11, 2015. By publishing the application in May the UPSTO has provided an 'opportunity for the public to oppose its registration.'
Ronda Rousey is no stranger to the trademark process. Using her corporate entity, Ronda Rousey Inc., the fighter and actor has registered a number of phrases. These previous trademarks include "F**k! Them All" and "DNB". The latter, which stands for 'Do Nothing B***h', was popularized by Rousey in the lead-up to her title defense versus Bethe Correia in the summer of 2015. This was despite the expression being somewhat well-known on Instagram, as it applied to fitness-related posts.
With little other information to go on, one can only speculate whether this specific trademark is connected to a bigger Rousey project that is currently working its way down the pipeline.
