Ronda Rousey -MMA debut 8/6/10

I love it. Besides the beautiful throw my favorite part is the cameraman in the back who cringes when he sees the throw.
LMAO - you're right, the ref cringes when that throw happens.... LOL :icon_chee

She's amazing! Exactly what female MMA needs. That throw in the no gi video was so slick that I wouldn't mind if she did that to me in the asphalt. The videos are almost unfair.

I could watch that all day. As a matter of fact I think I will.

That's JudoPorn.

(did I not look hard enough somewhere? how do you (Aethyr) know her opponent is a beginner? I'm not splitting hairs... someone w/20 no-gi tourneys under their belt would prob look like a beginner v.RR... I seriously didnt see where that opponent was called a beginner.)

In the first vid, did she break her arm or something? I didn't see a tap, just a ref stoppage.

Probably just popped a few ligaments outta place.

Uh, Olympic Bronze judoka vs a beginner in no-gi? I'll props where its due, but not in that instance.

Kind of agree ... I'm guessing there was just one division for women and that's why the two were competing.

I've seen judoka get told to compete as whitebelts in the gi. I could see the same for nogi. (although they'll usually use a more generic "time training" metric, it's not always)

Kind of what Rhadi Ferguson has said a number of times - your average judo Olympian doesn't have the technique of a BJJ purple, but will beat most BJJ browns on pure athleticism.
