Let's start with her own base, Judo :

    Ryoko Tamura Tani

Two times Olympics gold (sydney 2000, Athens 2004), two times silver (Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996), bronze medal (Beijing 2008)

Seven times (!) World Champion (Hamilton 93, Chiba 95, Paris 97, Birmingham 99, Munich 2001, Osaka 03). World championships used to happen every two years in Judo, and she won 6 straight

    Serena Williams

21 grand slams in Tennis major tournaments (6x Australian Open, 3x French Open, 6x Wimbledon, 6x US Open)

Ronda has 5 consecutive wins in the UFC. Compare.

I can't recall if it was during the world championships or the Olympics but I remember seeing Ryoko compete and being in awe of her technique. Perfection.

Man she could litterally pull out every throw in the book. Beautiful execution, most titled judoka ever, 11 years dominance. Respect.

    Also, the cyclist Marianne Vos.

2 times Olympic gold (2008 points race, 2012 road race), 3 times World Road Race Champion, 7 times World Cyclocross Champion. Considered the finest cyclist of her generation.

    Who exactly are you quoting?

It's obviously not someone with actual sports knowledge...

well this is the issue I have with their marketing of Ronda, they always have to overreach.

She lost at the olympics, and won the loser's bracket to end up sharing bronze with the woman who beat her.

That's still a gigantic feat. To be olympic-level itself is massive.

But still, the UFC needs to overreach.

    Understandable marketing, still weak.

UFC Ronda introduction (new and improved, thanks to ts for putting things in perspective)

Ronda is a mediocre talent. She has dominated every other female to come into the UFC. She never got a gold medal at the Olympics, but she came in third place.

It's almost like the ufc pr machine is full of shit to make themselves look good, like every other company that puts out PR...and all the politicians. Say when you go to a job interview do you tell them about all the craziest shit you did when you got drunk that one time? or why one of your marriages failed?

If you're completely honest as a person and you have a problem with our culture being full of lies and deceitful information, there should be far bigger issues to deal with on your plate. Seeing as you're complaining about entertainment though, I imagine your viewpoint of the world is fairly shallow and you know this deep down so you come on the forums to bitch about meaningless fluff.

To be fair, winning your last 3 fights in a total time of 90 seconds is dominant. Serena Williams at least loses a set every now and then.
