Ronda Rousey will leave UFC belt at Flavio Canto
Classy act. Her starpower rises with every story like this.
I can't remember who, but someone nailed this on Twitter with their guess.
Very smart pr move heh.
Like she actually cares about the Brazilians? They're just a big part of mma.
She gave the belt to Mathew McConaughey?
I guessed it would be something like that^^
It's a nice thought.
sigh too late was looking for a pic of him from that aids film
Not a big Ronda fan, however this is a nice gesture.
Brazil doesn't need her pity belt, RDA, Jose Aldo, and Werdum aren't enough???
She's been supporting the Flavio Canto school for some time. The school provides free martial arts training to disadvantaged children.
$30K donation in march 2015
visit in September 2014 to provide judo seminars
And now she left the belt.
This is clearly more than a one off thing in terms of supporting that school.
We all know why she gave him the belt
Soon to be the new Jules Rimet.
Exactly. For me this takes Ronda into the true realms of role model for sports. She has made noticeable strides in her maturity regarding trash talking - i.e. stop and think about what she says and its influence - plus she is doing genuine good because she genuinely cares. It was very apparent in her last visit how much she cared about the project and the kids that attend AND how much Brazil has embraced her. It was clear from this visit (see vid) that she was going to be supported when she fought in Brazil (at least to me anyway).
I thought this would be obvious, she and Canto have a history with martial arts related charities in Brazil
Wow, even bigger fan now. Pure class!
She definitely have a crush on him too. I read a Brazilian interview where she talks about him. I can't remember the site though.
So she gives this handsome guy the belt and old ass bald ugly Dana has to buy her another one? She's been using you Dana!
Thanks for posting. I had heard and wanted to know what she was gonna do with it.
Good PR move on her part.
