    Agree or disagree...

lmfao, no other weight class can boast the same name recognition except for Brock.

Not even a Jones/Werdum, GSP/Anderson, or whatever can top 1.5 million buys, let a lone a million. keep in mind, Ando/Diaz only did like 600K lmfao.

Mcgregor/Ronda are the two highest PPV generating fighters right now. A 135er and a 145er...Deal with it

    agree

matter in fact give it a bit more time ronda/cyborg alone with a strong CO and the right promotion(really have to sell cyborg as the other invincible fighter at a HIGHER division) it may be able to do 2million... at least it's not far fetched. Lol maybe put jones return as co-main for ronda or even better fedor's return haha just to mess with fedor/his fans .

edit wait "guaranteed", not sure about that ufc could really screw up the PR etc.
Also I think andy vs gsp in the past could do 1.5m, maybe jones/cain(had he not lost) but this one I may be underestimating how hard it is to get 1.5m.

GSP vs Anderson 2 years ago would have done better than Ronda/McGregor.

Don't agree...only cause you say guarantee... Maybe though.

Oh come on... That fight would have been absolutely massive. It would still be pretty big.

Wonder how the numbers work out, whether it is better for them to have two cards that do 1M each or one card that does 1.6M. If this were UFC 200 I could see 2MIL+...

A 30 man Royal Rumble in UFC would sell more than 5 mill

these situation it's probably always more profitable(higher cost through) to separate because very big % of the buyers would have bought 2x anyways. But once a while is good to do a mega card, there are probably indirect benefit as well in the future.

Good points, probably does make sense for them to split the cards up. Plus they only have so many ultra-compelling matchups to work with. Would be interesting to see some of the numbers, though. And yeah those mega cards have gotta bring in a bunch of new eyes and $$$ down the line.

    Aldo x McGregor
    Rousey x Cyborg
    Jacare x Romero
    Dos Santos x Overeem
    Pettis x Barboza
    Holm x Nunes

This card would do the trick for sure.

I think it gets close, like 1.75 million. Ronda is a draw, Conor is a draw, and Aldo is a long time champion. Probably best card all year if it happens

Maybe. I imagine they are all different markets. Jon Jones v Gustafsson 2 combined with Anderson v Weidman 2 back in the day might have done 1.3-1.5 but many of those guys would purchase both PPVs anyway.

Around 200k of Ronda's fans would be hardcores and the other 800k would be people that don't know any other fighters nor will they follow MMA once Ronda is gone.

Conor has the hardcore base [The Irish don't count under PPV buys because they don't have PPV - But they'll pull huge TV numbers].

    So

Except individually they would do something like 1.1-1.2 million, and you make a lot more money splitting it into 2 cards with worse supporting cast (that don't really matter).

    disagree

i think most of Conors fans are also Rousey fans so there won't be twice the fans it'll be slightly higher than they would do separate
