This just in: The guy who outstruck a prime Mirko CroCop was a terrible striker.
Seriously, dude.....grab the reins.....

Those punches also set up his clinch well which is partly why he was so successful. So yes, Fedor wasn't a textbook striker but he adapted his striking to serve his other skills well. To a certain extent so has Ronda but there's no question that Fedor has better striking. The ts doesn't get that Fedor's striking is not based on being technical like they would teach in a boxing gym, I have read Fedor's technique manual and in the striking section he describes how he did'nt want have traditional striking, so he invented his own style that involved corkscrewing the end of the fist to create a whip like effect, this would also point his elbow to the sky causing the shoulder of his striking arm to cover his chin, so everyone critiqing his striking and thinking that he's just swinging wildly doesn't know what their talking about and also take Arlovski for example, this is someone who has supposedly perfect but got viciously koed.
He was but I remember Fedor deflecting a lot of his strikes so they weren't as effective as they first seemed.Bad example. Arlovski was winning that fight until he threw caution to the wind and abandoned his technical approach.
Fedor had incredible accuracy and was always in control of his movements. Honda was herky jerky and flailing around like a noob. She's lucky Bethe is slow with pillowfists or she would have gotten worked.
fedor was a terrible striker
he was a beast on the ground tho

This .. and his body is ugly. :icon_sad:
The Ronda haters have come out in droves today after being butthurt last night.
Their constant theme seems to be that Ronda's striking isn't on par with Mayweather therefore she's not an elite fighter. LOL.
Ronda is a mythical creature. Therefore, Ronda > Fedor.

Not to mention that Fedor would often throw a massive overhand right and use his forward momentum to shoulder bump his opponent regardless of whether he hit or missed, and then use that as an entry to a takedown. It was a deliberate MMA tactic, not just sloppy boxing.Fedor has some of the most accurate punches in MMA history, he has his moments where he gets carried away with his aggression and can get wild, but when calculated he is not match by many and still accurate when aggressive, he had moments of getting lazy with some strikes though. He had a amazing ability to thrown knock out punches without winding up and right on the button, ending a fight at the blink of an eye and right out of the blue.

Mayweather would get owned by Ronda for the simple fact that his technical striking only works when opponents are not allowed to kick, knee, clinch, hip toss or mount you on the ground.
