The Ronda haters have come out in droves today after being butthurt last night.
Their constant theme seems to be that Ronda's striking isn't on par with Mayweather therefore she's not an elite fighter. LOL.
But these same dudes who criticize Ronda are huge fans of Fedor and ignore the fact that Fedor's wild striking was as crude as it gets.
Look at Fedor against Arlovski. Was that technical striking you saw?
Look at Fedor against Tim. Was that technical striking? Or wild haymakers?
Jeeze. Fedor was winging his punches against Tim so badly that they were nearly horizontal. lol.
Look at Fedor against Werdum. Nothing but careless bullrushing and lack of precision, as well as dumb grappling mistakes which got him submitted (which hasn't happened to Ronda).
Every Fedor fight is filled with crude and wild striking yet nobody criticizes his striking like they do Ronda's. LOL.
My point is that you don't need Mayweather-like striking in MMA if you have an elite level ground game that opponents fear like the plague, cuz it makes opponents hesitate and leave openings.
Mayweather would get owned by Ronda for the simple fact that his technical striking only works when opponents are not allowed to kick, knee, clinch, hip toss or mount you on the ground.
Plus, defense is much easier in boxing with such huge boxing gloves. Floyd would be a joke in a real fight without huge gloves to pad his face.
That's why Reem was an elite level K-1 striker but gets badly outstruck in MMA. Without huge gloves you can't block shots easily.
Any fool can keep their hands high in a boxing match where your only worry is defending a punch from a dude with huge gloves. lol. That's why boxers get fucken owned in MMA. :icon_lol:
*Tim Sylvia against Mercer doesn't count as an elite MMA fight. That fight was just a 311 pound fat fuck -- out of his prime -- standing in front of a boxer trading punches.
