I don't know what Sean Shelby's malfunction is but if Ronaldo Souza wins in Fort Lauderdale
Florida at the end of this month that would make him 10-3 overall which should depending
on belt unification sure him up a title shot unless the title committee does a u turn and gives
someone else a shot at gold.

Of course he should, but I wouldn't be optimistic if I were him.

He's gotta wait for the winner of Kelvin vs Israel to face Whittaker, and then hope there's no rematch, and hope in the meantime some more marketable middleweight doesn't make a run while he's waiting around.

In theory you're right ... but Gastelum vs Adesanya winner will fight Whittaker, so that won't happen.

The only way Souza gets the next title shot, is if Whittaker is still injured and gets stripped, then he will fight the Gastelum/Adesanya winner.

I am used to addressing Jacare Souza and Shogun
Rua by there first names which is a habit I've had as
    long as both have fought.

Robert Whittaker was cleared by his doctor not long ago so he is waiting on UFC 236 so
he can prepare for the winner later this year.

A title shot isn't nearly as big as a potential Camozzi trilogy match would be.

Jacare will more than likely have to wait over a year for his title shot if he wins.

Best case scenario: Have Jacare act as the backup for the Kelvin/Izzy winner vs Whittaker.

With Whittaker's luck, he'll pull out at the last minute, and Jacare will finally get his shot.

Jacare will hold out and wait for the winner of the unification bout. He's already said he would do that in the past. Izzy/Kelvin is next weekend, Jacare fights end of the month. Whitaker/Interim champ would be set for late summer early fall and then Jacare gets his crack end of year of early 2020 .

No chance he gets a shot. If they were ever going to give him one, they would have by now.

What a shit post. Losing by split decision ≠ getting KO'd.

MW is messed up at the moment

If he doesn't take another fight
He could possibly be waiting till early 2020 for a title shot

That is if Whitaker doesn't get injured

Interim winner vs Whitaker wouldn't happen till September/October
