Author of the book 'Born on the Fourth of July', Ron Kovic discusses his experiences in the Vietnam War. I have never read his book, I have only seen the Oliver Stone movie. My main take away and driving point from the movie was the aftermath of wars effects and PTSD on the human body. Too often the combat veterans are forced to get out of the military, even unprepared and there is not much for them once they are out. It is difficult to explain unless you have been there and experienced it, but it is good to know at least there are people out there willing to represent & fight for the vets. If you have one what is your opinion on Ron Kovic, the man.

Back in the '90's when I used to live in Hermosa Beach, I'd occasionally see Ron hanging out at one of those bars down on Pier (Hennessy's I believe it was called).

I'd say, "Hey Ron, what's up man?". And he'd just smile and wave.

Rah rah going away
Whatever coming home
Veterans care is a fucking disgrace.
They deserve far better.
