Random, I know. But this seems like such an interesting fight on paper. Both guys were incredibly explosive athletes, great wrestlers, and could KO anyone with their explosive power.

Romero
Advantages:
-Taller at 5'11
-Much more accomplish wrestler
-Better striker. Master of flying knees
- More unpredictable

Disadvantages:
-Smaller weight wise

Randleman
Advantages:
- More power (Rampage said Randleman hit him the hardest, I believe)
- Bigger at 220lbs
- Possibly stronger. Outwrestled HWs, while Romero had trouble with a big LHW in Cavalcante
- Crazier athletic feats (Randleplex)

Disadvantages:
- Lack of sub defense
- Lacks striking skill

I have Romero via GnP or even sub. But it'd be interesting to see him against someone who's his athletic equal or even superior.

WTF, I'll take Randleman via being a bigger freak than Yoel.

Randleman was good for his time, late 90ies, same for Coleman and Kerr, juiced up wrestlers that used to impose their strength.
Their game was can openers, chin to the face and other "dirty" tactics to brutalize the opponent.

We are way past that era.

Interesting matchup.

Not really interested in wrestling/grappling department - Kevin WILL take Romero down, and Romero WILL get up. Despite bring a great wrestler, Randleman was never a grappler in any way. He never knew what to do next.

Standup- wise - Romero is much more skilled: he practices much more, and Randleman used sloppy boxing.
But Romero is much smaller....or not? Will Randleman be a decent MW today?

I predict Romero catching Randleman with something in the 3rd, in his brutal fashion

Romero is better everywhere.

That's just fucking nuts,

I'd pay serious money to see a multiverse where Randleman left Hammer House, learned to strike and abused TRT.

He'd still be the HW Champ in 2018 (assuming he didn't get so ill after that infection).

Randleman was 220lbs or so as a HW, but he himself said he found HWs to be too big for him. Romero I believe cuts from 198lbs or so, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little over 200 pounds in the cage. Randleman would definitely be a MW nowadays, but I believe he's more explosive and athletic than Romero based on his feats. Romero is more skilled everywhere, though, and is reflexes are good enough to dodge a Randleman hook, which is why I think Romero eventually wins. Randleman has a puncher's chance against anyone in human history, though.

Didn't read but yeah, that would have been cool!

Romero via being more smart and better in every MMA aspect

Kerr was never good.

Kerr was never good.
Neither was Randleman.

Whenever there is a thread about a certain fighter and the only thing you see are gifs of him jumping in the air, you know he wasn't that good at fighting.

Really a thread about a guy that can jump and was 17-16 in his MMA career is gonna beat Yoel, really?

good job sir, i like how you are thinking

This is one of the greatest hypothetical matchups ever.

They both have elite takedowns but would not be able to hold each other down. It would be a dog fight.

Two best athletes ever in MMA would finally meet their match. Two most explosive fighters possibly ever. Both can explode and finish you in a heartbeat.

I honestly don't know if the Earth could sustain such a collision...
