His orbital spontaneously busted before he fought either Rockhold or Whittaker for the 2nd time, and he fought both guys like that? Wow, that's some Jacob Ortiz, cracked-skull level toughness right there. Amazing. Probably the ONLY reason his eye swelled shut against Whittaker, eh? Man, lucky Rob.

It is not clear when, but he said the doctor on operation said he had a broken bone for a long time and was surprised he didn't feel anything before, and that because of that broken bone, the orbital bone structure was weakened and the other bone broke like it did in the Whittaker fight. In the fights before, he doesn't get hit a lot, especially directly on the eye, so possible he fought like this without much issue if he wasn't feeling it hurting.

It’s shit like this that makes the ufc look like a second rate sport** compared to boxing. How are you gonna announce this without the fighters even knowing? He gets a lot of hate but Ariel remains the most credible source of information in mma. Hope Dana is fucking pissed that Ariel correctly called bullshit.
