He can’t win a 5 round fight at age 43. Cardio just won’t be there, and neither will his durability after back 2 back wars. Adesanya will snipe him apart if he tries to fight at a slower pace to conserve energy for 5 rounds. He needs to go out guns blazing wild haymakers.
His wrestling is good, but he can’t keep people on the ground. It also gasses him which is why he doesn’t use it much. He’s not going to win a striking battle with one of the most decorated strikers the ufc has ever seen. Just not happening

He needs to put everything into a TD and go brazy with g&p. He won't win a striking contest with Israel

Or you know work with some sambo guys or greco roman, to actually keep people down once he takes em down with his superior TD ability. So much wasted potential, he will try to strike with Adesanya and get ko'ed faster than Whittaker.

That sounds like the worst game plan ever against a decorated striker. Why wouldn't he wrestle more?

He needs to come out throwing wild haymakers.

Wait is this a bar fight or an mma bout?

Please, don't ever get into coaching.

Put it all into one takedown? He probably has to big effort takedowns in him per fight and after that he will be totally gassed and dead on his feet. I'd go with the haymakers, might get lucky

Because it’ll gas him. That’s why he doesn’t wrestle a lot. Also watch his fights, he can’t keep people on the ground.

I doubt it. If anything he has the ground advantage. Haven’t seen Izzy on the ground for longer periods of time even though he has shown some skills there.

Romero is a classic example of a wrestler that fell in love with his hands (and knees) though so I doubt we’re going to see anything out of the ordinary from him.

He usually outstrikes and lands huge a haymaker in 3rd round and onwards, no matter the opponent. If he lands something like that on Izzy, it might be the end.

lol he ll get TKOed if he does that.

He need to jab, low kick for the 1st round and look for takedowns, GSP style. It is his only way to win, he is never outstriking israel.

Israel Gonna put a calculated beat down on him unfortunately. Yoel has a small chance and I’m hoping he pulls it off, but doubt it

Cardio has nothing to do with age. Speed and power may decline though

Yup, let me get my 90 year old grandpa and have him train for a 25 minute mma fight VS. a young 27 year old. Lets see who has better cardio

That was the Robert Whittaker game plan. Robert virtually threw haymakers throughout that fight with Israel.

How old are you? 20 something? I'm 50, and yes, your cardio is going to be way worse with the age

Can't keep people on the ground? Did you see what he did to Lyoto?
