Xande doesn't really show interest in MMA, even if the money's better. Correct me if I'm wrong? Going off what I heard on This Week in BJJ

the best part about baby face's is he had been asked multiple times if he thought it was stupid to fight a relative "no name" and his response was along the lines of "they pay me the same to fight anyone... so I dont care." yeah, I see why!!! War War Master

I'm all for Roger remaining in MMA but I do hope he can improve his stand up, his last showing was not the best.

In someone's podcaste, he was asking why BJJ athletes don't get paid more because it required more abilities.

Jacre got a nice $100k out of it as well. I fully understand why he chose to leave BJJ competition for MMA.

No BJJ competition will net you $100k.

Water polo takes a lot of skill too, but they're not getting the big bucks. It all winds down to spectators and popularity.

Dude... I know. I was just stating what Xande's gripes were.

For any full contact fighting sport, if you want to make money competing, MMA is it. Not BJJ.

BJJ money making is basically internet marketing selling your secrets for a limited time at a fucking insane price. I'm glad Roger didn't take this route.

Or Xande can just pull an Eddie Bravo and open a ton of schools nationwide and internationally. Bring in the monaaaaaay without the physical pains

i don't know roger, but i tend to think he is not doing mma over bjj for the money. i think it is for the challenge. if you want money so bad then why have no sponsors on your shorts and shit? (unless that changed)

xande is giant whiner, he needs to accept that the money is not there for BJJ no matter how much marketing or promotion the federation and other organization push out

Xande's one of my favorite grapplers, but I think he's too old to be delving into MMA, at least if he does it for financial reasons.

He doesn't have the name recognition anyone bearing the last name Gracie does, and realistically, I suspect he'd have the same kind of long road to the limelight that Maia did. Maia's first UFC fight only payed 10k for show and win together, for that matter, and it took him 14 fights in the UFC to start making Roger Gracie money (not to be confused with Anderson Silva money).

So, 4-5 years to be getting established in the UFC and making good money, or open more schools under his banner and potentially rake in that same kind of cash without getting punched in the face?
