Rogan's hype nonsense is so cringe and pathetic. He has a new "p4p greatest fighter ever" every few months,. embarrassing.

Yet people have no problem with them calling TJ the best in history when he hasn’t even beaten the guy who “was” the best when they fought. TJ beat a punch drunk and dehydrated Barao twice and a guy in Cody twice who legitimately could be bw Matt Serra. Yet in the octogan last night a voice of the UFC called him the GOAT.
 
Joe gets a little excited and if he says X fighter in the UFC is the best of all time p4p then he's just doing his job. He hypes fights and fighters.

Cody is Matt Serra? If you're trying to compare the way they won the title that was a terrible comparison. Matt KO'd GSP early after rocking him with loopy punch behind ear. Cody completely out classed who we thought was the goat for 5 rds. If anything, compare Cody to Johnny Hendricks maybe.

are you new to prize fighting? This has been how fighters are promoted for over a century. Even in other sports, the announcers are easily swayed to hyperbole. Would you prefer watching a broadcast that is announced with disinterest and tempered restraint?

I’m comparing their records. Both beat an all time great champion and that was the height of Matt’s career. I am thinking the same for Cody. One huge night.

Hendricks never beat GSP.
 
Pretending to get excited while the mockery to the sport that was the women's straw weight fight while two spinners who hit like 10 year old boys took the cake last night.
 
rogan is probably told to act that way, because in the ufc and in prizefighting, they make money off hype. professional sports like the nba and nfl don't have to do that, because the popularity is the sport-itself. in mma, it's about personalities and rivalries.

But he always talks about how he's his own man, and he is who he is, and how Fox tried to tell him how to announce and he rejected it.
 
You're not wrong ts. I've been criticizing Joe for his lack of technical martial arts knowledge forever, especially lately since he's really been pushing the "I've seen more fights than anyone in history" narrative. He's an ego maniac who's doing good things, but is far too generous with listing his personal accolades. There has to be a direct correlation between all of the hyperbole and the delusion he has about his own knowledge.
