Surely he has problem with his boxing offensively and defensively,

And leaving AKA for combat Club just made it worse.

Bisping exposed it that Rockhold lacked proper boxing skills,

Branch almost had him and Romero cannibalized him.

He ain't young anymore and I don't think he can reclaim the belt he once have.

Rockhold got checkmated.

As far as rankings go... yes... but he also made about a quarter million last night... so in that regard he did better than i did. Ever.

Financially yes, but you never if that KO have a lasting effect this coming years.

Damage ego and possibly brain damage and permanent injuries appear on late stage.

Very few ever do

Of the many incredibly talented fighters to grace the octagon only a small fraction ever taste gold. And when they lose the belt only a very very select few ever reach the top of that mountain again.

Champs who never reclaimed gold:

Anderson Silva
Jose Aldo xxxx (I forgot he did get it back)
Shogun
Machida
Rashad
Rampage
Frankie (so far)
Weidman

No one has ever reclaimed MW or LW title.

He can go up to LHW and be top 5 there easily enough, only Gus/Volkan/Glover have a 50% chance or better against him IMO.

Funny, just a few years ago I thought Weidman and Rockhold were head and shoulders above the entire division.

Now Romero has two brutal KO's on both of them haha

DON'T FOR GAY JESUS!!!

Shogun coming for that belt in 2018.

Eddie may be close to getting another shot at the Lightweight Belt, after Khabib and Tony, he's the clear next in line for a shot at the Lightweight title, 2018 could be a good year for Bang Ludwig and Mark Henry.

Rockhold's standup and his willingness to be hit in the face will only make it worse going UP. Its a fallacy that he would have more success going up. He'd have less success. Who's he taking down at LHW? He doesn't have great takedowns to use his ground and pound.

It's just disappointing because you would've thought Luke would've learned his lesson vs Bisping but he didn't

Did it again vs Branch

Got ko'd by Romero

He just is not getting it. He needs a complete revamp and Mendes or Hooft need to help him FIX these holes in his defense or he's gonna keep getting caught

I see a guy with so much talent but so many bad habits and stubbornness to adapt. Face it, Luke, you do not have a great chin and the blueprint on how to beat you has been established.

He's got some, I mean a LOT of work to do. He's gonna have to get a win streak going before fighting for the belt again. I'd say he's gonna need 3-4 GOOD wins to start and hopefully he does, because he's a good fighter but just too damn cocky and that seems to be his downfall.
