How is it true? Anderson was healthy when he got KOed the first fight and was losing when the leg check broke hos leg in the second. Machida is 1 under .500 since he was champ. He is an extremely dangerous counter-striker that loses as much as he wins but it takes the top guys to beat him.

The Vitor comment is true but it wouldn't have mattered. And regardless of how likely it is he would ever pull off what he did on Luke again, Luke still got KTFO. There just really isn't any way to talk shit in that scenario to the guy who destroyed the guy who knocked you out. Yeah he wasn't the same fighter but still, you'd think Luke would want to leave that one alone.

So did Rua. Sometimes a guy gets caught and that's that. Luke is very good but if Machida doesn't stumble and get punched in the back of the head to the mat that fight might have been a war too. He was beating Luke in the stand-up. I still think Luke beats him but I seriously doubt most times they fight he could replicate that performance.

And Weidman was the first guy to successfully back Machida down in striking by constantly coming forward. Nobody had been able to do that. They either got lucky and caught him in a blitz or most got knocked out trying. But to do it round after round? That was impressive.
