Slightly under 3-1 but it is very close.

Preach my Sherbro,

Lucky fucking kick my arse.

Out struck and out grappled...badly.

I do not see how people think it was an event fight also. Blows my mind.

This division is so stacked, no one will stay champ for long.

I have not seen anyone claim it was an even fight, what I have seen was people saying the fight was even or that Weidman was winning up UNTIL the wheel kick in the 3rd which led to Rockhold's takedown. Those that said that would have a point as that was the turning point in the fight.

The reality is that if you make the strikes comprison without all the ground strikes that came as a consequence from this turning point then the fight was much closer..

Good, fuck him. Hubris became the downfall of Weidman.

It wasn't luck for sure, Weidman made a mistake and Luke took advantage of it, no luck there. He was the better man on the night, hat's of to him, he broke Weidman in the third.

It was a really even fight before Weidman got his ass kicked. Talk about grasping at straws. IF WEidman was winning before, and that is an IF, he was barely winning.

Always knew he'd do that,he is the better striker.
What's surprising is that he out grappled him too.
Took him down twice and first person to do so.

It's so funny seeing people trying to say Chris was winning until that kick.
Chris definitely took round 1, but Luke took round 2. Things seemed even until Chris did that wheal kick.

Weidman looked terrible. The 2 or 3 liver kicks shut him down. He switched to southpaw after a few of these.

it was all ground strikes by luke in the 3rd. duh.

chris was winning the 3rd up to that point.. he was doing fine.

did you not see luke taking the whole round off, he was losing that round easily.

probably because it looked pretty even up until luke took him down in the 3rd

It wasn't close at all really. Rockhold outstruck him 2-1 in the 2nd and brutalized him in the 3rd and 4th and pretty much dominated the grappling completely through the fight. RD 1 was close.

How is that grasping at straws when you just agreed with everything I posted?

This.

Round 1 was very close and the judges may have just given it to Chris just cause he was the champ, but either way, it was anyone's round.

Round 2 was definitely Luke's, but it was competitive.

And Weidman definitely was winning round 3 til he threw that awful kick.

On a side note, I'd like to see Chris and Luke fight different opponents, the UFC should hold off on the rematch for now. Sometimes it seems like the fighters aren't given enough times to address the mistakes made and holes in their game--as well as to regain some confidence--before being thrown back in there to fight the guy who just beat them.
