He gave this interview for Combate. I'll try to translate his speech.

In fact I think the loss to Vitor was the best thing that happened in my career. I do not like Vitor. I think he is cheating throughout his career and he always got rid of itin a way. But I honestly think that was the best thing that ever happened to me . That shot gave me a little sense, made me rethink how I fight mentally and tactically and changed my game. I'm grateful it was a very good learning experience and look where I am today, in a very good position, about to compete for the UFC belt

Funny how he constantly change his tune about this lost.

He has looked like a complete killer since then so it's hard to argue with this.

He learned a lot from that loss. Mainly how to complain non stop.

yeah it was the best thing that happened. Seeing him get KO'd was very satisfying

I really like Luke but damn! he knows how to be annoying as hell

I agree. Brain damage is the best thing that can happen to you.

That loss DID seem to make Cuckhold up his game, outside of the endless salty tears he displays over it.

Obviously he's going to change his tune. When you get knocked out brutally you usually don't wake up the next day thinking "Oh, this was the best thing that ever happend to me!". He's now realizing that it was a blessing in disguise. Adversity toughens you if you deal with it the right way, and it looks like he did. At the same time you can't blame him for being salty for getting brain damage against a known cheater, but he shouldn't have accepted the fight in the first place then.

If he ever gets his revenge and returns the favour by knocking Vitor out cold that'd probably be one of the most delicious moments in sports history.

Pretty obvious that Vitor haunts Rockhold's dreams.

For me it's more like a cliche speech. I think he realized that he was going too salty on media about that loss and try to compensate it. But it's obvious that he didn't get over it yet.

That's a decent translation considering he originally spoke in English, but I wanted to make sure it was accurate so I translated it a few more times and have arrived at a better version of what he was trying to say:

"In fact, I think the loss of Vitor is happening to me, my career best thing. I do not like Vitor. I think he's cheating on his career, he has got rid of ITIN way. But honestly, I think this is happening to me the best thing. That shot gave me some feeling, let me rethink how I fighting spirit and tactics, changed my game. Spinning heelkick. Get over it Luke. Future champ of the division tho.

He's looked pretty damn exciting in every fight since the loss plus seeing Vitor ko him was pretty awesome

Have you seen his last performances? He has obviously accepted defeat and regained his confidence (if he ever lost it). Him calling out Vitor for a rematch just goes to show how ballsy and ambitious the dude is. I'm sure the loss is eating him up inside but he's using it as fuel.

I don't understand how people can criticize fighters so easily about being whiney. These guys pour their heart and soul into their craft. Losing is about as close to dying as you can get if you're really in it.

Yes I'm being dramatic as fuck but I'm sure you get my point

Pretty standard belief for any decent athlete, you take something negative and make it into a positive. That loss eats at Rockhold, but almost in a good way, it made him way better, and he probably can't wait to avenge it. Similar with Dominick Cruz and his loss to Urijah Faber. It's not that he's hurt over it in a weak way, it's that he knows what it feels like to lose in embarrassing fashion, especially to somebody he considers to be a bad person like Vitor, and now he's prepared to not let it happen again.
