Robert is 7-0 and only 26 years of age.

12-4 as a Welterweight, stepped up to his natural weight and has never looked back.

Holds wins over Ronaldo Souza, Yoel Romero and Derek Brunson already. All top 10 at the weight class, and with the first two names, all-time greats who will go down as great Middleweight fighters.

Chris Weidman is 13-3 at 185lbs and is already 33 years of age, riding a 3 loss streak. We all know that he has questionable wins on his record against Anderson Silva also.

We just saw Robert beat the most feared Middleweight on the planet, on one leg, down two rounds to none, needing to sweep the next 3 rounds or get a finish.

Give that man his credit - he's on his way to big things!

lmao at people still trying to claim both Anderson wins are flukes.

Can't believe you'd hold on to that shit 3+ years later.

robert whittaker IS FOR REAL...

His ceiling is probably higher than Weidman's ceiling.

That being said, Weidman's wins over Anderson were not questionable.

They were completely, 100 percent legit wins.

Weidman has 3 title defenses
Whitaker isn't even the official champ, buddeh

This kind of garbage is why Sherdog is viewed as a joke to anyone who is actually part of the mma community.

The first one was a fluke, plain and simple.

The second one, he was well on his way to winning before the horrific injury. He has been proven to be someone who gasses considerably, so who knows how that could have went.

Both had elements of luck, if you are denying that then I'm not sure if you're being totally fair.

Chris went 9-0 in UFC and won 4 consecutive title fights beating the MW GOAT twice. Whittaker isnt there yet.

The most overrated statistic since the Triple-Double.

Title defenses mean zilch. None of Weidman's title defenses are as impressive as KO'ing Jacare Souza or beating Yoel Romero on one leg, and those fights weren't anything to do with a title.

Title defenses don't mean a thing, your opponents do.

You telling me that those wins over Anderson are anywhere near comparable to KO'ing Souza and beating Romero over 25 minutes?

Hilarious!

He knocked him out the first time then broke his leg with a check the second time. Neither of them are flukes. A fluke doesn't happen two times in a row.

I think The Chris can bounce back. MW is the best it's ever been and it's kind of like LW now where the top talent is so skilled, anyone can beat anyone. Chris has been taking very tough fights, but if he wants to stay in the top 10, I don't think there's any easy fights in the top 10, for anyone.

They clearly were not flukes. Weidman won every second of both of those fights. Anderson's "clowning" in the first fight was a direct result of him trying to play mental games after Weidman beat his ass in the first round.

That being said. Who knows how much of the old Anderson was still there going into those fights. Anderson was in his late 30s and coming off of an extended injury layoff going into UFC 162. A guy like Anderson, whose style was heavily based on reflexes so that he could land accurate counters, is the kind of fighter who gets old "overnight."

Kind of agree here, for example Cyborg could defend her FW title 10 times against the type of comp available at 145 and it wouldn't be worth as much as 3 top 5 BW non-title wins.

You add zero context to the KO and acting like checking a kick is a legit way to win a fight is just plain ignorant.

If you were watching a boxing match and Berto blocked a punch from Ortiz, then Victor breaks his arm in the process of punching the blocking arms of Berto, you would not turn around and act like Berto finished the fight with a maneuver. Blocking a strike doesn't count as a proper win, and we know this. Anderson could have kicked him a million times and that would never happen ever again.

Complete fluke.

LMFAO people STILL salty about Weidman beating that ass... twice. None of those wins were questionable, they were both legit, it's time you guys get over it.

apples and oranges.

one beat the GOAT (right or wrong) twice (right or wrong), defended against Machida, and then proved to not be the best of his era.

the other is on his way up.

judging fighters in this way is subjective. if you rate fighter v fighter more than belts & accolades - and apparently TS does - then sure, Whittaker is already currently ahead of Weidman.

if you don't - and there is nothing wrong with subjectively rating accolades higher - then you don't.

silly debate that i'm sure you all will enjoy thoroughly.
