Robert Whitaker attacks UFC pay.

Tend to get paid more when you actually show up to work, Robbo! ;)

Who determines what's fair?

In most developed countries unions and employers fight over it and a common ground is determined through that process.

In America it seems the aforementioned process is generally shunned and is replaced by employees grabbing their ankles and lubing their buttholes.

To each their own I guess.

So instead of wanting and having fair compensation for a sport you enjoy, people should just stop going into pro MMA. Seems fair, bud.

Are you opposed to change in general?

Oh and die in the process. Seems like a smart idea.

The @SportsDoc solution to problems is to just avoid them. If they don't apply directly to you, apparently they're not a problem.

I don’t get it. The pay is good around a million per fight for a top draw after PPV etc. Even mid level fighters can take home over 60-100K per fight.

If they don’t like it fuck off and do something else.

Then he shouldn't bitch about pay. We all know what the high-paying professions are. Make a choice. He wouldn't be complaining if he was in the NFL.

If he chose to do what he loves for less pay, he should be happy with that

You’re simple minded as hell

I love to fuck super models.

Someone is required to pay me millions to do so.

So why not go into porn? If you have a dream, make it reality. People would pay to see you fuck super models.

Big talk from someone who is neither a pro fighter nor in their situation.

so what do you suggest they do then? because i suggested a perfectly reasonable solution to their problems, but i can't MAKE them do it. if i was a pro fighter in their situation, i definitely would've left or at least went on strike, you know, like how the rest of the pro athletes do when they're unhappy with something.

what kind of insane person stays at a job where their boss is a miserable cunt? not me. UFC doesn't have a monopoly on MMA. fighters seem fine staying in Bellator and OneFC seems to be paying the big dollars there.

you can't have your cake and eat it too. you either bite the bullet and accept the payments even though you wish it was better OR you take action and try to do something about it.

that's not "big talk" that's literally the only choices you have.

tell me, what do you think Whittaker or any other fighter is expecting to happen by telling the media they're unhappy? nothing is going to happen. Whittaker and the others should go to Markwayne Mullin and figure out what it takes to get the Ali act going and what evidence and testimonies etc., they need to prove they're being paid unfair wages.

look, i just suggested another perfectly reasonable way to attack their pay wage problem, and you have yet to suggest anything.

big talk from a person who provided nothing.

The world is not obligated to pay you money to do what you love.
Really? So why should the fans support a system that pays Dana/WME to blow snow over his driveway while mid-tier fighters have to debate whether to continue for the thin chance of making it big.
And your previous comment about the NFL/MLB is ironic because those sports have union bargaining and payout a bigger chunk of revenue to their players.

it makes sense from his point of view, he has been in some wars with Romero, Jacare

he is only getting a fraction of the money UFC stands to make

making a statement about pay is fair,
at least he is not whining or hiding behind contract negotiations and stuff like that

doesn't show up for work...complains about pay

now that's an iconic duo

So why didn't he become an engineer or a medical doctor?

Or go into the NBA or NFL? I heard they pay a lot.
This! I’m so sick and tired of all these fighters complaining about pay. It’s not the ufc’ fault that not a one of these fighters has any other source of income! You all chose to be fighters and train your body. None of you have a degree or career to fall back on, you all took that route. And then they don’t make mcgregor money and blame the ufc. All the while, never being smart enough to I don’t know, go to school, study accounting or engineering, get a career lined up.

People are paying to see to those nfl players, they aren't paying to see Bobby Knuckles.

Fighters only have selves to blame.. Blue print for what all the other athletes did to these pro leagues is right in front them and they refuse to do it.... NFL and NBA players had day jobs at one time so it was even worse. Today they get ~50% of revenue.

I don't understand the people disagreeing with him, he's right

Yeah because everyone has the opportunity to become and engineer or doctor. Or to play in the nba or nfl.
