Robbie Lawler will outclass Johny the whole fight, if not knock him out.

I can't think of any other boxer in mma that has legit power, except for Robbie Lawler. He's a southpaw but can fight orthodox. This is where reach counts and Lawler has a 5 inch reach advantage if I'm not mistaken(btw Carlos Condit is a striker, not a boxer). Newsflash Johny, you just exposed in what areas you aren't comfortable with and you've never faced a southpaw boxer before, especially one whom has immense power. Once Johny get's hit, I think Robbie will hunt him down with boxing, looking for the big blows. But he's not only a boxer, he can switch it up by dancing(getting into his rythm) to set up for a big strike or strikes.


I don't see Johny having much success with his takedowns, and I suspect that the majority of the fight will be on the feet. But Hendricks hasn't felt the type of power of Lawler before, which is why I think he's going night night...


Robbies faced guys similar to Hendricks size that had even more power and guys who are just as good in wrestling as Johny, if not better at 185lbs. Can you imagine if Robbie made the switch to 170lbs and camps 5 years ago?


Anyways, in short, those are the essential reasons in why I think Robbie Lawler will outclass Hendricks...

Even though both guys have such wicked power, this is not about to end in a KO if you ask me. Title on the line, expect most rounds to be conservative.

ok guys lets get real, lets put aside who we prefer (im assuming nearly everyone wants lawler to win) and look at what theyve achieved over the past few years

hendricks = knocked out tough competition, beat condit, and by most views beat gsp
lawler = lost 5 of his last 11 or went 3-1 before coming into ufc, he beat a statue in his last fight

hendricks will be a maSSSSSIVE favourite for the fight and he will win

but fingers crossed lawler wins because its what i want but elts be real here people

I was thinking the same when Johny fought Condit but Johny did not get outclassed in that fight, and IMHO Condit > Lawler. And if there will be a knock out in this fight, Lawler is more likely to be the one getting KO'ed.

Lawler was a highschool wrestler, and learned a few more martial arts discipline even before that. He then went tp train with the Miletich camp, which were known for their wrestling. Robbie reversed Josh and Rory from the ground, which I don't think anyone has been able to do(maybe GSP?) He's also known for his take down defense, especially the guys who train with him.

Plus Jacare had a hell of a time trying to take Lawler down. Jake tried 3 times unsuccessfully the 1st round, and had his back against the fence.

With Robbie's new and fresh focus at 170lbs and training with Lombard, Pitbull, Woodley, Lima and a ton of talented other people at ATT, I just don't see Johny having a whole lot of success holding Robbie down...
