    Lawler was 3-5 in Strikeforce

All his 3 wins were KO wins in the first round: Manhoef, Lindland and Amagov

He was finished 2 times: Jake Shields and Jacare Souza choked him out. Others were UD losses: Sobral, Kennedy and Larkin

    Thank you for attention

Oh, look! A thread which subtly implies that a former champ has always been overrated! How original! Never saw that coming!

Even though he got nuked last night, Robbie is still easily one of my favorite fighters of all time. Absolutely love the dude's fighting mentality, most exciting WW champ of all time IMO...

It's crazy how quickly people turn on fighters here. Robbie was definitely one of the most humble and exciting champions too...

It also took another former Strikeforce fighter to beat him. But the ufc was always the great bro! Lawler got better when he signed with the ufc because it infused him with super zuffa powers.

Nothing new on sherdog. A fighter loses, and he always sucked and was overrated.

This dude had 10 losses (now 11). Another loss was inevitable. Been saying it for months.

I am real disappointed that Lawler lost. He was perhaps the most exciting champion in the UFC and I don't know any fan that isn't anxious to see him fight. At 34 years old, he may never be champ again, but I know until the day he retires he will always deliver an exciting and hard fought war. Utmost respect to the Ruthless one! Congrats to Tyron too.

This may not be popular opinion, but I always felt like Lawler had a lot of Vitor Belfort in him: great talent, attitude, couldn't win the big one. To me, it's interesting how both of them experienced a late-career resurgance, with Lawler evidently being better able to manage it properly.

If he's smart, he'll take this and slowly try to ride off into the sunset with a big-money fight like the Diaz rematch, instead of chasing waterfalls.

This is not new to anyone. Pretty much everyone counted Lawler out the moment he stepped into the UFC. That's what made him special. He was this old school guy, that revitalized his career and worked his way up to a championship.

Lawler always had a fan base because he always came to fight, but he always had his weaknesses. I believe his first fight in the UFC he was 19 years old, his career is full of ups and downs. For him to come back to the UFC and win the championship is one of the best stories in MMA history.

It is quite clear that Robbie during his Strikeforce tenure was more interesting in just going to war and wasn't training in as serious of a manner as he is now.

Yep its disgusting how people on here totally bash the champ when he finally loses the belt and say how overrated and terrible they always have been. I'd like to see any person on here step in the cage and fight these guys and girls. Show some god damn respect, these guys are putting their brains on the line just for us to be entertained. Don't shit on what they put their whole life into. Robbie lawler is a fucking animal and does not deserve to get bashed just cuz he got knocked out and lost the belt. It's how the sport goes it doesn't make him terrible or overrated
