I know this is a typical white belt thread about a guy who never even fought in Pride...but omg him vs Shinya would be a fucking huge and exciting fight for Japanese MMA. Just give him a warm up Fedor style fight and then book it if he looked amazing in his return.

Obviously he's doing fine at the moment but I remember an interview a couple years or so ago where he said he'd consider coming back for the right fight. What would be bigger in Japan than this?

It doesn't matter if he's never fought in PRIDE, he could still get a fight in RIZIN.

This unfortunately wouldn't really be a big fight in Japan.

Aoki is a relative unknown in Japan.

He had a pretty bad back injury back in the day, never thought I would hear about him returning.

I'm good on that. Aoki just beat Saku. Don't need him going on some old star killing spree when he should be fighting legit guys.

He's 32 him just continuing to demolish overmatched guys rather than taking real fights is getting old.

Genki is in the 4th dimension now he aint coming back

Genki seems to have very little to no interest in combat sports any more. He would have little reason to come back, he's likely making solid money with World Order.

I would much rather Aoki fight someone like Cruickshank if he wins next month or for RIZIN to make a legit move at some elite Lightweights for Aoki to fight.

I love Genki but he needs to stay away from fighting.

The guys is a legend. p4p funniest fighter to watch and he actually made a solid career outside fighting.

If his back injury is as bad as we know, he should keep making music.

Not sure why you're "good" with Aoki vs. Sudo then. Sudo is 38 and hasn't fought since he retired in 2006. I'm sure his health is better than Sak's, but he's had a decade-long layoff and is totally irrelevant to the current MMA scene.

Meant good on that. Like I'm cool to not see it ever happen.
