Is Rizin the Japanese WEC ?
WEC had the best LWs and lighter weight class fighters so no
Is Rizin the Japanese WEC ?
I don't know, but I'm pissed that Nadaka hasn't fought there in 2 years. He's an absolute killer:Is Rizin the Japanese WEC ?
I pay bc I hope they continue existing at all. I know my $20 doesn't go far, but, if they fold, it won't be my fault. I suppose they could fold like PRIDE, where it wasn't even a monetary issue, but still. I won't be blamed
20 bucks since the time difference is hell, Rizin streams are impossible to find, and also.... 20 bucks isn't too bad and I don't feel bad about it. When it gets to 40 and above, that's when the doubt starts creeping in100% I want to sleep at night knowing at least I didn't contribute to another PRIDE / DREAM / SENGOKU scenario. We have the opportunity to somehow make it stay a live a little longer. PRIDE NEVER DIE
Most Japanese combat sport scene is like that, people come for the individual fighters not really the brand. That's why fan clubs are huge in Japan, but Rizin doesn't care since if you buy a ticket, it really doesn't matter if you leave early, the money is the sameRIZIN isn't sure what it is now. They make stars but their stars bring in the crowds not so much for their brand. RIZIN is strange as many of their fighters have hoards of fans like cults some have fans mainly teen girls, after they fight the stadium empties out. No one cares about steriods but the fans if their hero says that's why they lost. So no nothing like WEC.
I know a place that streams them like clockwork, and I will usually provide the details to those who don't wanna pay, just to try and drum up interest, but I still poke at them for just not paying, and suggest that next time they do. $20 is a great price point for a show that, at least at this point, has recognizable names to most in the West. And almost never a dull card, the ruleset and matchmaking don't generally allow it. I probably have a reputation around here, bc I sing RIZIN's praises a LOT, but I only do because I understand that, if people were watching, they'd enjoy it. All of the gripes in the Heavies currently, about boring wrestlers yadda yadda, they don't really apply to RIZIN, generally. Wrestlers are dangerous there, and mostly exciting. MMA fandom is a weird state of affairs. They gripe about how they wish things were, but what they want I available, right now.20 bucks since the time difference is hell, Rizin streams are impossible to find, and also.... 20 bucks isn't too bad and I don't feel bad about it. They do care, as their recent steroid scare shows it hurt them. And losing a fighter to UFC also showed. Glad Rizin is bouncing back but they acknowledge it is hard. Most Japanese combat sport scene is like that, people come for the individual fighters not really the brand. I compare it to WEC because it seems they specialize in anything under 170lbs and they pay little to no attention to the heavier classes which is a shame.RIZIN isn't sure what it is now. Agreed, If RIZIN stays at 20 I have no reason to try to stream it. Here we go, on the same page again. I don't know how so many call themselves fans of MMA when they just bag on anything that's good. They're chokin' on that haterade. Have a good week bud.I know a place that streams them like clockwork, and I will usually provide the details to those who don't wanna pay, just to try and drum up interest, but I still poke at them for just not paying, and suggest that next time they do. $20 is a great price point for a show that, at least at this point, has recognizable names to most in the West. "Fight type: All Rounder"
Bad matchup for Juan, let's see if he can make it interesting
Agreed, RIZIN 45 was their most successful promotion if I'm not mistaken, and the more recent ones fill in most of the top ten. We should keep buzzing itman, yall mothafuckaz need to pay for this shit. It's only 20 bucks. Don't be cheap. You want Rizin to grow? Pay.
100%, sakakibara is back with something that sticks and it has blown up in japan. we're back baby. not quite 2000s levels but almost there. sakakibara is the man. PRIDE NEVER DIE. *insert drum beatAgreed, RIZIN 45 was their most successful promotion if I'm not mistaken, and the more recent ones fill in most of the top ten. We should keep buzzing it
I would say the rumors of a merger are mostly gone for now, as they seem to have momentum and are open to doing collaborations
